Just an Observation

Post by Bsuds »

So to post a photo on the Castanet forum it takes 6 clicks.

To post the same picture on Facebook it takes 3.

No wonder we waste more time on here.

I was just glad that they finally increased the size limit for photos. I hated having to go to paint to reduce the size of some of my pics. You'll know which ones were mine because they are so small you need a magnifier to read the captions.

One thing to keep in mind is that the software this forum runs on was initially released in 2000. While there have been a lot of upgrades since then it still operates pretty much the same way, sadly no real motivation to bring it up to the current state of technology. And trying to get Castanet to move to a different platform would take quite an effort to migrate all the posts from the many years. Not to mention the change in UI/UX would probably make some people's heads explode.

Some of them we might even miss.

Because Facebook is hungry for all of your photographs, thoughts, feelings, personal information, etc. so it makes it reeeaallyy easy for us to send all those things.
