Another Headline

Castanet Headline : "Park pervert arrested"

https://www.castanet.net/edition/news-s ... htm#330503

No, it's not a Castanet written story,, the writer "Elana Shepert" works for "Vancouver is Awesome". A check of that site, has the story credited to Elana with the headline "Man 'appeared to be masturbating' on Metro Vancouver walking path: RCMP"

The story goes on to tell about two youth who see a South Asian man masturbating in public in Surrey.

The suspect is never identified or apprehended.

The story ends with the old "Anyone with information is asked to...."

But Castanet uses the headline "Park pervert arrested" ?????

If you "restore a power outage", doesn't that mean cut the power again ?

Just so I'm clear; it's wrong to masturbate in public?

Asking for friend. :130:

Unless there is actual crash/accident don’t be calling 911 because a driver PUO. Instead actually call police directly.

"Parents injured after crash" https://www.castanet.net/news/Kelowna/3 ... ork#356575

So after crashing, the parents were then struck by another car ?

Or were.... "Parents injured IN crash"

Didn't know where to post this one first. They are seeking charity to pay for their medical and wage loss. What about ICBC ?

I saw that headline and it left me a little puzzled too.

More than half the time, the complainant is watching the participants with a telescope from blocks away. Quite a pass time in the West End of Vancouver with all the high-rise dwellers.

"Heating oil rationed"

What !,,, is there a shortage of fuel, oh no,,,, !

Well,,,, not really but why spoil a so so story with an accurate headline, when you can invent click bait with a juicy headline.

Actually anything that has to be moved in a truck over 5,000 kilograms on a road on South Pender Island is "rationed". So it leaves one to ponder why the headline mentions "heating oil" when anything that requires a 5,000 kilogram truck can't be delivered via the road.

The correct headline should have been something like : "Weight restriction restricts delivery trucks to 5,000 kilograms on South Pender Island"

But isn't Pender Island where all the greenies live, so why are they using heating oil. :200:
I would have thought their heat generating composting toilets would be heating their houses?

Or are they full of it?

Castanet has those "teasers" at the top of sections....

I was pleasantly surprised to read the headline "Four Containers Missing". But wait, the smaller print below the headline is the opposite.

Hey that would be great, I heard there was something like a hundred containers that fell overboard, and now, only 4 missing, wow, they sure got busy and found a lot of containers.

I then went to the story..... "All but four containers that fell from Zim Kingston cargo ship still missing" (out of 109)

What ?

Not much different "Four Containers Missing" verses "Only Four Container Were Found"
