Jesus
Re: Jesus
I dont know the guy in the photo eyepop (dumb british guy)... maybe he will perform some miracles too if he is able...perhaps claim to forgive the sins of men...if he can do it maybe they will write a new bible and it will be as historically accurate as this one... if not maybe he's just.... well.......mad

Re: Jesus
If you think one photo and a couple of quotes establishes anything... Well, 'we' haven't established anything.Saxon wrote:So hopefully we have established that Jesus did infact exist
See now, you're going to run into problems with that other Christian sect. You know, the one that believes Jesus was the 'son' of God. Not God.Jesus claimed in whole many times he was infact God..
Hence my original guess to your question that, if he were alive today, he would be given large amounts of thorazine...Either
He's Crazy ?
I think you saying that is quite patronizing. There is no room for just a good guy, wise fellow.....great speaker etc... and should you think there is ....how patronizing
You cannot reason someone out of a position that they did not use reason to arrive at.
Re: Jesus
I would suggest doing some research its is very well proven Jesus existed. If you think one photo and a couple of quotes establishes anything... Well, 'we' haven't established anything.
I too refer to Jesus as son of god Most Christains do... he is still GodSee now, you're going to run into problems with that other Christian sect. You know, the one that believes Jesus was the 'son' of God. Not God.
Then there it is...for you, despite the proven accuracy of the bible Jesus was a crazy man :124:Hence my original guess to your question that, if he were alive today, he would be given large amounts of thorazine...
Well Im sorry you found that... In what way is it patronizing? to you WDthink you saying that is quite patronizing.
Re: Jesus
Actually from a theolgical stand point they mean the same thing. Son of God is not intended as literal point... it is symbolic. It comes down to looking at the three aspects of the Trinity. God is represented to us in three ways God the Father... God the Son... and the Holy Spirit.
All three are representative of the same God... just different ways in which he manifests himself to us.

Re: Jesus
If I'm really bored one day I'll check into it. I doubt at this point it is very well proven.Saxon wrote:I would suggest doing some research its is very well proven Jesus existed.
Perhaps one day someone can start a new thread and explain to me how one can be the father and the son at the same time.I too refer to Jesus as son of god Most Christains do... he is still God
I haven't seen the proven accuracy of the bible. And no, I did not say Jesus was a crazy man. I have never said that. What I am saying is, if the guy described in the bible showed up today, he would be taken for crazy. Then there it is...for you, despite the proven accuracy of the bible Jesus was a crazy man :124:

Oh, and I quoted you so you would know I was talking to you!
Don't get so mad, it's just my opinion.

Sorry... couldn't resist. I will also be kind and not subject people to a discussion on the Trinity (is one of those subjects that can cause insanity if you think about it to hard).writerdave wrote:I think you should start a new thread on this one.bdbnkr wrote:Actually from a theolgical stand point they mean the same thing. When a discussion is always going to end with "my belief" vs "your belief", there's pretty much no point to start it.bdbnkr wrote:Sorry... couldn't resist. Re: Jesus
Anyone can make stats look good in their favour. Wasn't there a bit of an incentive at the time? All of the previous gods had been discredited. As it turns out, the crops don't fail because the gods are angry and there are valid explanations for thunder and lightning.
For years, man looked to the heavens to explain the how's and why's when they didn't understand. Then when philosophers and science explained how things really work, suddenly the real god decides to show up and send Jesus to a small group of people on our planet to set things straight. And he performs miracles to prove that he is the one. And anyone that doesn't get the news or decide to follow him will burn in Hades.
Wouldn't a supreme power looking over the entire planet come up with a better solution than to burn a few rules onto stone tablets and pass them out to a handful of people guided by one man and a dozen followers and then watch what happens?
A couple thousand years later and he can't provide us with a little more guidance?
Ah but he works in mysterious ways...
