Is there a god? What is the meaning of life?

The Bible is an historic text of sorts; a collection of stories depicting certain major events which were subsequently embellished, IMO.

I also think that a man named Jesus almost certainly existed, but that he was "just a good guy, wise fellow.....great speaker etc...". That is not said to be 'patronizing' - it is my belief.

That is my belief as well Baba. I'm sure he existed and was a great man but that's the extent of it for me.

So would it, for instance, be OK to use as a moral litmus test the question, what would Bill Clinton do?

The reason I ask is because that would so totally work for me.

Back on track,
too.

Matthew 15:10-11

Jesus called the crowd to him and said, "Listen and understand. What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean,' but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean.' "

It's just a story wrote by man, nothing more, nothing less, the Old Testament is very evil and should be banned cause of all the violence in the book. Although I do like "Live by the sword and Die by the sword.

The old testament is evil? I knew it! Like just last week Old Testament came around, I was on my stoop, and he came over and hustled me for $20 bucks and i was all like, "Dude *bleep*!" and Old testament was like "I be back'n my roll wit yo $20, yoh, to sizzle my rizzle, word" and I KNEW this was some pretty racist sh*t(Old Testament is white, if you didn't already know) so I was like "man ur evil!" so anyways he took off with my $20 bucks and then yesterday I'm downtown, checking out the Chuck Cadman autobiography at Chapters and who do I see in the starbucks across the way? Old Testament! and what did I see him do? Steal the carafe of Half & Half, that dirty bugger I KNEW he was evil!

But what are you gonna do, talk to him? good luck, he'll just start his "And Abe begat Issac and Bartholomu begat Issaya and Issaya had two sons who begat..." crap, its like playing that repeat game with a 3 year old, it never ends! Which reminds me,

This is the song that never ends,
Yes it goes on and on my friend.
Some people started singing it, not knowing what it was,
And they'll continue singing it forever just because —>

I do not believe in good and evil. With that said I agree that the Old Testament is an extremely violent, morally deprived text that showcases a megalomaniac, psychotic, and genocidal God.

Hmmmmm.

Lets recreate the scenario and imply the same punishments for the times...

Pregnant out of wedlock
Choice of being stoned to death or claiming divine intervention
Raising child from moment one with the implication that they are the son of god

Do you think the child will grow to live up to his implied destiny???

I think someone should start telling their newborn that they are the son of god as a social experiment to see how that child evolves in life. ......
