Just got home from dinner with my father and younger brother. We spoke of memories and composed an obituary for the newspaper, and there was a feeling of relief in the air. Perhaps 'release' is a better word. I'm wondering if this feeling will remain, or if a grieving period is to follow.
Heal the sick, feed the hungry, care for the weakest among us, and always pray in private.

Perhaps both.
Grieving can be described as a process with a myriad of feelings.
It is what it is. And it is yours. Despite the commonalities of the grieving process, your experience and expression is unique.
It's possible to do all the right things and still get a bad result.

So sorry Fluffy.
You're Mom left you with something to help you cope, something she helped create, a wonderful family.
You'll hear again and again, your Mom will always be there. Sounds simplistic doesn't it? But its true though. So much of who she was has been instilled in the family she left behind, so much of you is your Mom, a lot of what you believe and feel, how you come across to others.
Its hard sometimes to really know a person on a public forum but what we do know of you we have to say your Mom must have been a wonderful person. And so part of who she was continues.

She did a good job.

May you find comfort in the memories of your mom, Fluffy.
