More like fuel for a good chuckle, however, accepting that I am now mindful you may actually be a little slow, engaging you further in this little *bleep*-for-tat would just be mean and unfair.Born_again wrote: I'm glad I'm providing you with adequate food for comment; long may it continue….Accepting that I am now mindful that you may be physically blind, re-quoting what I've said would just be a forlorn exercise in futility.

Re: Atheism debate
Sadly, what we have just witnessed here in this topic is by no means an isolated phenomenon. I have yet to see a forum debate on Atheism that has not been effectively shut down by dedicated opponents/goons/spoilers who just can't admit defeat. Why is that? Surely it's not coincidence? By all accounts you have the most omnipotent backer known to mankind on your side, yet you consistently fail in throwing an atheist, even a slow atheist, a curve ball that would cause him to strike-out. There is something inherently wrong here, and that is pitifully obvious.
As steven lloyd rightfully suspects, I'm a little on the slow side; no shame in that, especially considering that I somehow have managed to back the winning horse for a change. Luck? Not really, just a goodly portion of common sense. The biggest problem for some of my more cerebrally endowed adversaries is that their ego cannot come to grips with the fact that they backed a loser. How could this happen to such a keen boning knife, when a dull butter knife is doing all the slicing?
The first problem is that in 90% of cases, we didn't get the option of choosing the horse; we got lumped with a nag at birth, just as I did. I can't really speculate on how my synapses managed to fire any differently to anyone else's, considering the full-on brainwashing I went through early on, but evidently they did start to fire in an unorthodox manner. Technically speaking I had absolutely nothing to gain according to the ingrained pre-conditions, but everything to lose! Why then would I choose to follow such an apparently self-destructive route?
steven lloyd, you have made an attempt to shut down a thread that defies your sensibilities, for no other reason than pseudo-pride. You spotted a runaway train barrelling towards your very tower of faith; you didn't didn't like it, so you set the switchgear to derail this topic in short order. Nice job .... or at least, nice attempt! Regardless of whether you max-out on the cerebral scale, I am backing a winner and it would be highly improbable that I would lose in this tête-à-tête. Sure, I'll occasionally stumble along the way on account of the dullard lump of neurons nature apportioned me, I'm only human. The chances are that you would wipe the floor with me in any other subject matter, and I grant you that unconditionally. What, I beg, does that say of you?
A horse pill is hard enough to swallow, but it's made much harder when it is bitter!
Let your mind drift back to November 2006, as it seems like I'm not the first person to suss your modus operandi out:

It does indeed seem that you are doing some 'good' work on somebody's behalf, again, and again, and again ad infinitum. Good luck with defrauding yourself, and I sincerely hope that you get more than just a 'chuckle' from my post this time, as I aim to please.cerealkiller wrote: What a copout again! Zing! Well played Born_Again. How I miss Cerialkiller, he was one witty mofo. He left because S.Lloyd's kind of behavior. It's like running into a brick wall of infinite self looping stupidity. :clueless:

Are you kidding ?!?!? You kids must be having a blast impressing each other. However, if either of you should ever decide to attend university or college once you get out of high school, you might be interested in studying some logic in a philosophy class. At least then you might be able to recognize “infinite self looping stupidity” and realize not only how senseless this argument is (God exists. No He doesn’t. Prove it. No, you prove it), but how your other foot tastes. Until that time, though, you can carry on without me. Cheers.

I was always under the impression I didn't need a post secondary education to discuss religion. :smt102

You don't jenny. Some knowledge of logic is nice though when you're trying to impress everyone with your knowledge of logic.jennylives wrote:I was always under the impression I didn't need a post secondary education to discuss religion. :smt102

I can hardly wait. It's a shame Steven will not be participating.

Indeed m_v, but any 11th grader will tell you that philosophy has little use in science. So, other than having an intellect so high that his neurons are tickling god's feet, I don't think he has anything of substance to contribute.

Re: Atheism debate
So you are of the opinion that your faith should hold a special reverence in my mind or actions, and that of others? If that is what you are implying, and I'm sure it is, you have no right, absolutely NO RIGHT to tell me what I should fear or respect, nor anybody else. Do you respect the Flying Spaghetti Monster with the same reverence you apply to your god; I thought not! Take your blasphemy charges and file them suitably.jspaz wrote:I don't know a whole lot about science and I don't know all too much about God either but I do know that I was raised as a God fearing boy that grew into a God fearing man, and that this isn't the sort of *bleep* that should go on a pubic forum. This is called blasphemy and you don't take chances with it. If any of you knew better you'd stop your typing and get down on your knees and ask for forgiveness because what your doing here isn't going to fly wit the high and mighty. Whether you think so or not God knows what you're doing and its pissiing him off.
How dare you try and impose any special kind of importance on your beliefs! If you want any respect from me then get your religion out of my life and keep it to yourself! I have respect for many people who's opinions I'm at odds with, but only because they don't attempt to foist it upon me, the society I live in, or my children's brains(don't ever let me catch you tinkering with their minds!).
Frankly, it's people like you that do the biggest disservice to your own religion, and to me that is tantamount to your interpretation of BLASPHEMY! :purefury:
