PD column today. I have say this is as far as I got, I may read the rest later.

True to form as a evangelical who has Homophobia.

The United Church of Canada (UCC) has a history of making news and departing from historic Christian thinking on critical issues of faith. A few years ago it broke from much of this nation’s Christian community by openly affirming acceptance of “gay and lesbian persons for membership and ordained ministry.”
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

Big surprise PD is a homophobe. Most people know that evangelicals are(unless you have been living under a rock), not ifs about it. Congrats to the United Church of Canada for welcoming all and any persons.

I did not read PD column. Could not be bothered.

Well, I made the mistake of reading this oversized windbag column. Everyone is welcome, Oh but no Gays. PD go blow it out your tailpipe. Christian Church are the biggest anti-semitism group of all.

I just love how the second someone criticizes Israel the anti-semite card starts to get thrown around.
Not surprised that dave is on board though. Jebus can't come back unless the jews are in the 'homeland'. Hopefully they will build that temple soon too...that will speed things up.

Kind off topic but could an Evangelical please explain to me why you fear homosexuals?

You should really start a new topic. I would be interested in the answer.
You cannot reason someone out of a position that they did not use reason to arrive at.

Haven't we done that one before? For some reason, I think it has been covered.

Ditto. A religiously based state claiming to be ultra-secular while countering objections to their purported secular based conflict with the religious based "anti-Semitic" quip.1

Although, I gotta say, it's a brilliant tactic.

Careful, tread lightly. You might get called an 'anti-semite'. And whatever you do, don't compare Israel's tactics with the Palestinians, with their own experience with the nazis. That's usually a no-no... :cursor:

The Kibbutz I lived on did not even allow those of German descent into their presence. But they were happy to exploit Palastinian labour. If you saw the living conditions of the Palastinians, you would say that the foreign nationals, like me, lived in a higher standard. The Jewish community wanted nothing better than have foreigners go forth out into the world and preach the gospel of Israel. The trouble is, we had too many questions, you know, land rights, living standards, healthcare for all, education, housing....etc etc. Verrry Inconvienant.

I worked Saturdays in a synagogue in Vancouver for three years, and a couple of summers on Gabriola at Camp Miriam, a Habonim Dror summer camp. I have seen where the idealism comes from. Religion and politics is always a terrifying combination.
