I have recently begun reading a book titled The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. It makes a very good case for atheism and in fact Dawkins' goal is to enocurage people to 'come out' in their atheism, as he believes that many people are closeted. He quotes John Stuart Mill from the nineteenth century: "The world would be astonished if it knew how great a proportion of its brightest ornaments, of those most distinguished even in popular estimation for wisdom and virtue, are complete sceptics of religion."

no, its a good point you make bv and 1 i believe in , its the same for the goverment in power to not prosacute one their own , or the cops not demanding the bad cops be held to the same standerd as the common folk.

the catholic church has so much sway in the states now , that the iraq and afgan war is tied directly
to the catholic god winning over the muslim god, its like a hollywood movie being played out by real ppl.

ultimatly someones going to have to take the pope to court

Skepticism is one thing but Dawkins takes it one further, he seems almost a cult leader of an anti-religious crusade:

I've read it twice now. It's a very good read. He makes a very solid case that there is likely no supernatural power or creator. I think if more understood it they would put more stock into saving the world we have now. I speak to many moms who have the attitude that it will be ok in heaven so who cares about this world. I just can't comprehend where they are coming from.

^^ I've met many non-religious people who have the "I'll do what what I want 'cause you only live once" attitude. That's not good either.
They say you can't believe everything they say.

you are right... the live, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die philosophy is bad for logical reasons. It does not recognize a tomorrow.

The greatest adaptation of life is to plan for the future.
