Re: War, Hatred & Oppression
Tryscotty, I was kinda wondering
like one of the scriptures I posted from Romans "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone".
As we both know it is not always possible...but as much as it depends on me and you we do our best. Don't leave the thread, it is good to sort through this stuff, to hear others points of view...just can't get caught in the snares!
Tryscotty, may the Lord bless you and keep you and cause His face to shine upon you

Next time you point a finger, I'll point you to a mirror. You don't deserve a point of view when the only thing you see is you.

I would encourage those who wish to study the bible to find a version that is close as possible to original writings, short of learning biblical Hebrew & Greek.
The bible that fit this is NASB as well a Strong's concordance.
Here is couple website for online:
http://www.biblegateway.com/
http://www.blueletterbible.org/index.cfm
http://strongsnumbers.com/
Enjoy any & all discoveries you find.

I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests. I am an old cantankerousness grump that happens to be very opinionated.
"tryscotty" wrote: Stalin also used the Russian orthodox church to control the people and encourage them to fight. An atheist nation with a state run church. Curious. Again another example of religion far removed from what Jesus taught. I repeat, don't blame God these people arnt listening to him. And yes he will intervene soon but that won't turn out well for most. Go on and keep fighting you so called followers.
Nice try tryscotty, Stalin wiped out the Church and shipped Christians and their priest to Siberia. The only time Stalin let the Church come back is when they were losing the war at first. All the Priests he allowed were all NKVD agents.
Your right and so am I. They never did leave. They did become KGB and always remained in Russia. Interesting subject though. You can start a new thread about that and the tracing out religions paths. Where did things stem from. It can be traced. Thank you for your accurate clarification.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bike.
Then I realized God doesn’t work that way.
So I stole a bike and asked Him to forgive me.

I once lived just a stone's throw away from a family who all died of mysterious head injuries.
