God is non judgemental and does not do things to hurt people. If your religion teaches that god does these things then your religion is wrong. The problem with religion is that it is made by humans and humans are so very much judgemental that it's teaching don't always follow the truth.
Mechanics of the earth are just that mechanics of earth...not because we make poor choices. Only humans hurt humans (and the odd animal).
