You pointed me to a site and told me to learn something. I'm not an Atheist or anything, but the site you pointed me to was nothing but "prayer is so great!" which I think is futile at best. So, since you're the one who pointed to the site, I'm going to again ask you, not the universe (is he friends with the situation?), what exactly am I supposed to learn?

No worries.
Honestly, I don't really see much learning opportunity in that site, but I'm sure some people out there love it.

Re: There's probably no god.
There's something very basic in the concept of prayer for me. It's not who's listening on the other end, but the act of asking the question in the first place. It's often been said that the first step in solving any problem is to acknowledge its existence in the first place. The act of framing a question in one's mind acknowledges the problem and will often put the question in a context where personal intuition (which some may refer to as the voice of God) supplies a path to an answer, if not the answer itself. This opens up a whole new ball of wax, as the clarity/accuracy of one's intuition is greatly affected by the level of inner calm one has managed to achieve. A high level of personal unrest presents a significant block to things like intuition and conscience, or to speak metaphorically "God speaks with a quiet voice".
“Debating an idiot is like trying to play chess with a pigeon — it knocks the pieces over, craps on the board, and flies back to its flock to claim victory.”

From a "Yay prayer!" site?
I honestly don't see how that's possible, or why I would need to learn what I already know.

That's a good description. I'll add that prayer and meditation (not religion) is also not about asking for or wishing for changes to external events or factors, but about seeking internal and personal change, and increased understanding and peace through conscious contact with whatever that force is that connects us all (for those uncomfortable with the "God" word).
I once lived just a stone's throw away from a family who all died of mysterious head injuries.

I always start by giving thanks for the daily lessons I glean from day to day living and all the interactions with others that make up the journey down the roads of life. The only thing I ever ask for from God is the continued guidance through these lessons.
The seemingly wanton actions of these interactions do come together at some point and make sense and I can then understand their relevance to my path. I don't judge these experiences as good or bad but as a necessary component to fitting into the bigger picture God has in mind.
I have my own way of feeling the connection to God and despite the negative rhetoric seen on these forums, nothing can change my belief in this experience. It is very real. I just let it flow and enjoy the ride.
Eg. This morning, I walked with my dogs and pet wolf along my placer gold claim and saw 2 grizzly cubs playing in the river; then I came here to this forum and can see the frustrating disconnect that most here have from our intended and true human nature.
There is a greater purpose to the paths of our lives if we simply choose to have the faith to follow the signs.
It's a beautiful thing this life...
