I love my Hindu neighbour as myself, but he's going to hell

Is there a god? What is the meaning of life?

I love my Hindu neighbour as myself, but he's going to hell

Post by Thinktank »

Hi.

As a Christian I love my neighbours as myself. I am a light to this world.

but unfortunately, when they were handing out religions, the Hindus never
got a good deal, and so they are all going to hell, I think.

Galatians 1:8 KJV
King James Version
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Do you agree with the scripture that says other religions are cursed?

I am sure other religions have passages that explain how Christians (et al) will be going to love. All is fair in love and stupidity.

Hindus don't hate you like you do towards them. What happened to; live and let live? (Yes, I know I am quoting 007) Just leave them alone.

Hinduism grants absolute and complete freedom of belief and worship.[58][59][60] Hinduism conceives the whole world as a single family that deifies the one truth, and therefore it accepts all forms of beliefs and dismisses labels of distinct religions which would imply a division of identity.[61][62][63] Hence, Hinduism is devoid of the concepts of apostasy, heresy and blasphemy.[64][65][66][67]
Prominent themes in Hindu beliefs include (but are not restricted to), Dharma (ethics/duties), Samsāra (The continuing cycle of birth, life, death and rebirth), Karma (action and subsequent reaction), Moksha (liberation from samsara), and the various Yogas (paths or practices).[68]

Religions that say we are right and everyone else is wrong, may want to rethink that position. IMO comes across as arrogant and very self righteous, which god would be against. Yes or no

No.

That is an actual scripture from the bible and I think
most Christians believe other religions are cursed
and they think they themselves are supposed to be a light to the world.

The verse starts like this: I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you in the grace of christ and are turning to a different gospel, Not that there is another gospel but there are some who are confusing you and want to pervert the gospel of christ.

Christians, jews and muslims believe in the same god. sikhs believe in one god and so do hindus , hindus believe god is in everything.

Christians do not think they are the light of the world they believe jesus was sent by god and he is the way the truth and the life no one can go to the father except through him.

Organized religions are ALL full of BS. Their sole purpose is to brainwash and control people and gain power/wealth for their leaders (most of whom are men).

... or through His teachings – depending on how you interpret the meaning of the statement.

But why so many people against religion and the bible?

I only started this thread to make people think. First of all,
I don't love my neighbour as myself, even though the bible said to do that.
I couldn't care less about my neighbour - there's a fence between us, and I only
talk to him once a year. That's the funny thing about Christians and church - even
the absolute best Christians don't care too much about other people. Yet, we're somehow
sure that other religions are cursed.

But I think I'm going to start some threads in favour of Christianity, compared to the 'worldly' people
who think they can get away with running Christians down. I'm going to start a real thread, and prove
to everyone that even though there's a lot of things Christians can't answer, being Christian is
still the better way to go.

that's what I'm going to do.

Why?

What makes Christians so superior?

Why are you right and everyone else in the world is wrong?

I think that's mighty UNchristian of you!

I predict you won't get past the first Atheist like every other Christian attempt at reviving a dying faith.

A light to this world for sure. A bit dim, perhaps, but a light nonetheless.

You seriously think this is how to be a Christian?
