Think about it
You cannot reason someone out of a position that they did not use reason to arrive at.

Re: Think about it
That video is exaclty like one of my uncles. He also told me to
'think about it.' He said God never answered one prayer for him
in his life. I don't think he turned down one alcoholic drink in his life
either. And then he was describing his daughter ( my cousin) and how she was
flushing drugs down the toilet when the cops were approaching, how she spent time in jail,
how she looks old and ugly now (drugs do that) how she's divorced, broke, and the time
she burned down her own house. So I thought about it. Why some people are so terrified,
and so paranoid, and so berzerk about living decent Christian lives? Let them do their
thing then. Let them be like my uncle who never had a prayer answered in his life,
and never turned down an alcoholic drink in his lfe. If it's so bad to believe in God,
and to at least try to live decently - if that's so difficlut - then don't. It's a free world.

One does not need to be a christian to live a decent life.

If God does not show favouritism or partiality to any one group as you imply, then why pray? Is this the reason why prayer does not have any measurable effect?

Prayer is for desperate people that have no more solutions.

I think prayer is sometimes for those that need just a little reinforcement.forum wrote:Prayer is for desperate people that have no more solutions.
Truths can be backed up by facts - do you have any?

Reinforcement of what?

Since no answer is given, I would expect more people to give up the practice after a while.
I find prayer to be one of the more curious aspects of religion.

but the video is a fraud.
I find bad things happen to people who completely reject
God much more than those who obey God.

Not to mention confession....gee I can do whatever I want and then confess. All is forgiven and I can go do some more!

I find those that obey God to have distorted perception and poor math.
Bad things happen to everyone and if you live long enough (even those that embrace the lord), you will most likely experience more unfortunate happenings than someone who has lived a shorter span. "Bad things" is subjective so pretty hard to quantify.
Some of the biggest hopefuls and worshippers on this planet live in 3rd world sh*tholes and have unimaginable atrocities happening as a part of daily life - kinda hard to compare to some of our 1st world misfortunes of North american non-believers.....
Its a big world thinktank - perhaps you can ask your god to pay a little more attention to those who really need it instead of first world pettyness and answering the selfish prayers of those who have too much already.
Your God is pretty amazing for all his creations, but while you give him an A+ I would give him a C- at best (there is lots of room for improvement)

Open your eyes a little more. You'll find bad things happen at exactly the same rate for both groups.
