Does every topic have to be about this?

Is there a god? What is the meaning of life?

Does every topic have to be about this?

It would be interesting to discuss what teachings found in the Bible believers in God find encouraging. Every topic turns into a battle with those who don't believe. People have a choice to believe in God, the Bible or nothing but how about 1 topic without the battle?

Of course you can discuss the encouraging parts of a belief system. But you have to also be aware that it's a public forum, subject to scrutiny.

Scotty, set one up. It's been done before. You might want to pm Jo about it, but there have been instances over the years where a thread has been set up with 'rules' in the OP that were to be followed and the mods, more or less, make sure they are followed.
You cannot reason someone out of a position that they did not use reason to arrive at.

Absolutely, it is totally reasonable to start a thread like that. Just state your preferences in the thread as to what you would like and would not like to see. Then send me the link.

Could it not be part of the "R&R" forum? With participants having to remain on topic?
It's possible to do all the right things and still get a bad result.
