Re: Question.
I pray that the souls of Mr personality and Born again (they seem to be the same person of split personality??) may find a soothing balm for their inflammations and seething angers.
Amen...

steven lloyd wrote:-fluffy- wrote:Born_again wrote:-fluffy-, would you be upset if I told you that I take your "narrow-minded" insult as a complement, given the present company. By narrow, I read focussed ... acutely focused on reality.
I didn't say "narrow-minded", I said "small minded" as in petty and intolerant. Tell me this, in what way do you feel insult and sarcasm benefits a discussion?
Narrow could be true as well – as in constricted, pre-decided and self-limiting. Scientists are challenging and redefining our concepts of reality every day. I don’t know why BA has discontinued challenging his own ideas.
How has B_A discontinued challenging anything?
His querries to theorists with scientific evidence challenging their beliefs or definitions of words used to describe their beliefs go unanswered.
Where is the rebutal to support argument against the evidence presented?
No reason to challenge your own ideas if you've based them on your understanding of scientific evidence presented that are not addressed by an opposing debator with relative information.
I can agree that some querries may come across with a condesending tone, encouraging a hostile reply but it shouldn't encourage a hostile reply. ( I attribute that lesson learned to you Seven Lloyd

Responding to OP. I'd like to understand further just what Jesus is doing right now. The trinity of Christian god(s) thing has me baffled. I'm yet to comprehend the father, son, and wholey ghost relationship and I too await answers from theroists to this and other questions poised in these threads.

Umm...no anger here. Mostly confusion about your posts, but no anger. Don't waste your time praying for me (and no, we are not the same person, thanks for asking...oh wait, that was more of a statement with a question mark tacked on).
You know very little in comparison to what you think you know.

Re: Question.
I don't get why people don't stick up for each other more on Castanet and point out that personal attacks shouldn't be made here. People rarely stick up for me, so I'm going to jump in here and note that unbiased2 and 5VP seem to be doing nothing wrong. Yet born_again and even Mr. Personality are throwing some pretty harsh insults around. It's ridiculous and shouldn't be tolerated.

Re: Question.
This has been a regular complaint of mine as well, You see things being said here under cover of anonymity that I'm sure the authors would never dream of letting past their lips in face-to-face interaction. Such is the seductive side of the internet and its inherent lack of accountability. Does "freedom of speech" carry with it a freedom from the traditional concepts of respect and courtesy?

I figured you would.
Doesn't mean you know me though.
Which means you know less than you think you do, since you think you know me.

Subject matter aside, the lack of simple manners is like a plague on the internet. Geez, it's like watching parliamentary coverage from Ottawa.

Now we're getting somewhere...
The whole father, son, holy goats trinity thing is actually apostate to God's words in the Bible. The term "give up the ghost" is mentioned early in the bible in the book of Genesis ref. stories of Abraham.
Many teachings and rituals currently practiced by various religions are apostate and were not mentioned in the Bible and have been added later in the game mainly by the empire building roman catholics.
The whole Sunday church vs. actual Sabbath day thing of 4th commandment fame is an example of religious apostasy.
To understand the concept of Jesus's mission here on earth requires that you read the Bible thoroughly as well as other global "biblical" texts and actually try to live according to the moral lessons therein. It doesn't take long before you begin to see some of the truths of these writings and how patterns of actions and behaviours have effects on your personal life.
Some refer to this as The Law of Attraction but in essence it it is basically "What goes around comes around" or , more biblically, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", as opposed to what some here practice as the demonic "Do unto others then split...".
People who dwell in such negativity have a difficult time rising out of the darkness of their thought patterns and are thus, sadly "unenlightend".
Many seemingly disparate cultures have amazingly similar stories and myths about of heroic or godly celestial beings.
Both the early Chinese and British lore, for example, contain stories about righteous heroic humans fighting dragons.
To me, these are representative of the war in heaven which resulted in Satan and his demons (dragons) being cast out of heaven down to earth by St. George or the Archangel Michael who represent the celestial incarnations of Jesus.
I learned long ago not to get too literal about the repetitive nature of the bible but; in my opinion, taken in it's total context, it represents an amazing historical/genealogical document and social journal of both the development of humankind and insight about the so called GOD's/celestial beings who created us and their benificent intentions for us.
So...I strive to lighten up and enjoy the ride of life with all it's blessings and the lessons and the breaths and visions and dreams and joys and sorrows etc...

Re: Question.
Hey Fluffy, snes . . . I appreciate your responses. I re-read my original post and realized it didn't quite come off the way I intended. Left myself wide open and ole' B_A jumped on it, as I now realize that's what he likes to do right or wrong. Instead of responding defensively, I should not have responded at all.
As you guys also indicated that forum etiquette seems to be lacking by many and I too will keep this in mind when posting in the future. I guess in some cases the old adage of "it's not what was said, but how it was said" could be appropriate here, and lastly Fluffy as you pointed out and I too agree . . . It's easy to make statements under the guise of anonymity that otherwise might not be made.
