So women aren't allowed to preach. Now I know why.

Is there a god? What is the meaning of life?

So women aren't allowed to preach. Now I know why.

Post by Thinktank »

I watched about thirty seconds on tv of robert' Schuller's daughter
making an effort to say something imporant, and now I know
shy the bible says women can't preach. Because they're not very good at it.

If you have to be persuaded reminded bullied pressured bribed incentivized, lied to, guilt tripped, coerced, socially shamed, censored, threatened, paid, punished and criminalized, to gain your compliance- the thing is no good

It's kind of funny that someone like the Schullers that probably
have millions of dollars think that they know more than other
people about God. Sheila Schuller doesn't know more than I do.

I just think that rich people shouldn't preach. And women shouldn't preach either.
It says so in the bible.

It also says you shouldn't eat pork, you shouldn't judge, you should cut off your hand if it causes you to sin, that women shouldn't pray without their heads covered, that "illegitimate children should not enter the "congregation of the Lord", that slaves should obey their masters, that one shouldn't judge God's servants, etc, etc, etc...

According to your post it seems to me you have committed a sin by judging one of God's servants...for shame, for shame...

BTW her message was a good one for the many Christian mothers who think they have to be perfect.

There's just something about a woman standing in front of a church
with all those people hanging on her every word - that bugs me. If she
would tell her little stories about her family and her sons and herself
to a grade one class of children, that would be perfectly fine. But not in church.

Robert Schuller's son was even worse. He was on tv there for a while, and
was he ever phony sounding. His goofy look was even more phony than he sounded.
Schuller's kids much be rich. I just want to know what gives them the idea they
can preach about God? Is it because they're rch?

Gotta keep the gravy train rolling.

Women that believe in a male god are what confuses me. The war god of the desert is one nasty patriarch who demeans women so it is rather confounding why women would tolerate such a creep.

If you don't like them, don't watch or listen to them and move on. Why would you as a Christian turn on the TV and waste a half an hour of your life watching someone you can't stand? You might want to question that one Thinktank...it doesn't feed your soul and it sure isn't honouring your god, I would think.

The fact of the matter is, everyone has their own personal tastes. Some like the hell fire and brimstone screaming, spitting bible thumping screamos, while others like personal stories they can relate to...

I cannot remember from previous discussion if ThinkTank is a Christian, atheist, or something else, but either way he strikes me as one of the most judgemental personalities on Castanet. Accurately or not, that's my impression. I also highly doubt he's ever read the Bible in his life. I'm sorry, another impression on my part.

ETA: upon further reflection, I believe my impression stem from accusations leveled and strong opinions formed before you have a working knowledge of the topic at hand. I'm thinking of both your Bible threads and your BC tree fruits threads.

I think thats fairly accurate.

I also think that his self righteousness has completely gone to his head. I have yet to read any post that is not derogatory, hypocritical and bigoted.

Put that in your tank and think about it.

I never judged the old guy - Robert Schuller. He might not have been that great,
but he didn't bug me, so I never made a thread about it. Am I gonna come
on here and say - Hey Everyone, Schuller doesn't bother me?

But there's a good reason that Sheila Schuller bothers me. So I made a thread about it.
The bible says women shouldn't preach. Isn't it funny that coffeeFreak can say all those things
about the bible, which are very derogatory, and no one complains, but I criticize Schuller's (rich millionaire) kids
and it creates problems. the fact is I think she's a bad preacher. It's the truth. And I'm allowed
to say it.

You know what would be really good, since someone
mentioned BC Tree Fruits on this thread? It would be really
good if Sheila Schuller, while asking people on tv for donations,
it would be good if she would tell everyone how many millions
the Schullers are worth.

Yeah. It's safe to say I am 'judgemental' when it comes to multi million dollar operations.

I'm judgemental, too .... I don't think anyone should be allowed to preach religion.

That day is coming gramma and possibly in our lifetime, we will be free of the yoke of religion and its dogma of servitude.

I've got a lot of relatives that hate religion too. It seems like
MOST people are not religious. And still we got a lot of problems in this world.
Now I'm starting to hear news about many of my relatives that were so terrified of religion
years ago - they seem to be having many misfortunes. One was drinking and died somehow.

My complaint is about earning money from religion.
My complaint is about tv evangelists like Sheila Schuller who tell
little simple stories suitable for a grade one class, then go on tv and ask for
money to build an empire.
My complaint is a church full of people WHO ALL SMILE (every one of them)
yet more than half are phony. More than half are two-faced. That's my complaint.

I don't have any complaints about just being a Christian (without any church), because I see my
heathen beer drinking relatives are not doing so well.
