Agreed. I like the idea that there is some mystery to this journey.

In a situation where there are no clearly defined parameters and no definitive proof in any direction then there can be no right/wrong to anyone's views.
When asked what he thought of Western civilization, Mahatma Ghandi replied "I think it would be a very good idea."

I read an article once that was from WW1 where a woman whose son had died in battle appeared to her and explained that he was just on the other side helping those who died come to terms with their death.

I also read a book once that said that, just after you die, you experience exactly what you believe you will. It helps with the transition and is less traumatic. Eventually, though, you move on to the next stage where you assess what you learned from this life that you just left.

I have read all kinds of different views of what happens, but in the end, I would rather just be content with the surprise of finding out what the next step of the journey is. I think it would be like a surprise party, full of aw and wonder. I do feel sorry for those who believe in hell, though, as that is what they will experience until they wake up to the fact that it is just what they expected, then move on.

To me, life is to be experienced and the only judging that anyone gets is from themselves. If there is a god, it really is not interested in what you believe, just what you experience.
Trying to get spiritual nourishment from a two thousand year old book is like trying to suck milk from the breast of a woman who has been dead that long.

There is that too. There are as many possibilities as there are people with an imagination.
