Is it or isn't it?

I'm thinking of dishonest drug companies like Glaxo Smith Kline who flat out lie, to earn $billions.

Or how bout wars? There's nothing as great as wars for making $billions. But not so nice for poor kid
whose parents were blown up, or he has to live the rest of his life with no legs.

I'm thinking of orchardists or farmers everywhere who spray their food with harmful pesticides
for cosmetic purposes - it harms people in the long term, but sells more product because it looks nice.

Or the SOEC. Those guys running it got a super duper contract, Penticton is losing $millions, but the
fortunate ones who are running the SOEC are making excellent money.

The banks in Canada earn $billions of dollars while the poorest children in Canada go undernourished
which will affect them for the rest of their lives.

BC Ferries pays their top guys obscene wages, and many people won't go to Victoria because
the cost of the Ferry is too much.

Or BC Hydro - everyone paying higher rates for electricity which is a rip off, because the water in the river
that provides the power doesn't cost them a cent. I'm sure there's lots of dishonest people at BC Hydro enjoying
the money that is becoming more and more difficult for people to pay their monthly bills.

I could go on and on. The love of money is the root of all evil.

Okay, probably not too many bible readers on this forum. The above words are from the bible.
Most people will have never heard of them. Most people love money, especially people who go
to church, for some reason.

So how about if everyone on this forum tell us in their own words how they love money.

I think Glaxo smith Kline loves money.
But I also think the doctors who promote the drug companies products love money.

Everyone loves money.

Not sure what direction you're looking for in this thread, if you read the article the above statement almost becomes prophetic. Where has all the depression come from? Depressed children? Society has come to a point where we no longer tolerate or enjoy simple things, and these big money making corporations have noticed. There is a pill for everything! I prefer the "chill pill", no big wants, no big worries.

the doctor likes his mansion on the lake and his $100,000 boat - he pushes the drugs
the nurses make a high wage ($40/hr?) and they tell the patient to take the drugs.

And no one cares about anyone else. Everyone down the line only cares about their money.

Farmer sprays his crops with pesticides.
He sends in some poor transient Quebec worker to work in the sprayed fields.
No one cares if the farmworker gets cancer later from exposure to the pesticides. Farmers are greedy.
Then the packing houses rip the farmer off, because their top managers are greedy.
Even Sun Rype rips the farmer off, getting the juice apples practically for free, because of greed.
And to top things off WalMart, who is greedy rips everyone off by bringing in 'dirt cheap' fruit
from USA companies who are dumping the fruit because they are greedy, and finally, greedy
consumers buy the cheap fruit because theyre greedy.

Did you hear the latest news of glaxo smith Kline, one of the biggest
pharmaceutical industries in the world - they lie like crazy to increase profits,
pushing their drugs makes them $billions of dollars. They must pay a $3 billiuon
penalty for their disgusting dishonest crooked business practices of giving doctors
rewards for pushing the drugs on people. I would put the managers of that corporation in prison for life.
Telling someone who makes $30 billion to pay $3 a billion penalty is a joke.

Giving young children ritalin, to make them calm down in class, instead
of just reducing their sugar intake, is one of the most evil things we humans can do,
yet we're doing it to more kids, especiall young boys, than any time in history.
It's because we all love money. Every freaking one of us.

And the agirculture chemical industry is the same dishonest no good business practices.
I would reduce both pharmaceutical drug use, and pesticide use by 90%. Those two industries
would make $millions profit, instead of $billions if it was up to me. But the people of this earth
want it. So they got it.

At the risk of derailment, can't this be taken back a step further to say that the real roots lay in fear? Fear of acceptance, fear of how we are percieved in the eyes of others. To many, money is the yardstick that we measure success by, and to be without money is seen as a sign of failure, something that carries a big stigma in our society.
