My parents led me to the Lord. Don't stop prayer in school

Post by Thinktank »

The school said prayer is banned.
So the kid tears up his speech which was approved by his school ( because of atheists)
and he says the Lord's Prayer anyway.

OK people - let's hear the praise for this kid for showing the courage to put God first.

Let the praise begin. there's no way prayer in school should be banned.
His parents led him to the Lord. His parents taught him to be a good guy.
And he is a good guy, because he stands for what he believes in - God.

Prayer in school isn't banned anywhere. You can pray in your head all day long if you'd like. Proselytizing is what is banned as it should. Everyone is most welcome to their personal relationship with their god or lack of one equally.

I'd be upset with my classmate for hijacking our shared moment for their personal gain.

His parents led him to the Lord
and I'm sure they taught him to respect everyone, but the best thing
his parents taught him - is to have respect for god - FIRST. Not last.

And that's why he's such a great guy. He got no personal gain for what he did.
The whole school cheered for him because they all respect God - and we should cheer for him too.

HOORAY .

His parents led him to the Lord

Goody!! Then let him pray at home with his parents. Religion and political dogma belong at home... not at school.

The atheists persuaded the school to ban prayer.
The kid ripped up the school approved speech and said 'the Lord's Prayer'
The whole school agreed with what he did - and cheered for him.

The whole school agreed with what he did - and cheered for him.

There's something wrong when the whole school wants prayer in school, but a few atheists
succeed in banning prayer.

Let's praise the kid for having the courage - to show respect for God. There aren't many people
that would do that.

How was prayer banned exactly? Prayer is a personal thing, how can that be banned? Nobody has control over your brain. Sounds like a persecution complex to me.

The school said no one is allowed to say prayer OUT LOUD.

Atheists are the minority. Yet they think they can dictate what everyone else does.
I think that kid, had good parents who taught him to respect other people but
most of all his good parents taught him he must respect God - above all.

Let's praise the kid for what he did, instead of being negative.

I'm not understanding why someone who only went to church 3 years with some negative undertones is asking others not to be negative. Anyone can pray - just don't disturb others.

There are more than just Catholics and Atheists in schools so I'm pretty sure it was not just the Atheists wanting no Lords Prayer in the School.

As it should be. Schools are a secular place for learning facts and critical thinking. You already have buildings for praying as loud as you want. They are called home, church, mosques or synagogues etc. I send my kids to school to learn, not be preached at. The young man was in the wrong and I don't care if he is in the majority or not. What he did was rude.

Lived in the ME for nearly a decade. In a Muslim country. They pray 5 times a day. Employers did not give time out for the employees to do their ablutions and then pray.. employees were expected to time their prayers to their breaks or 'make up' their prayer times either before or after work. Why should school time be used for Christian prayers instead of saying your prayers at home with your family BEFORE you go to school?

His parents led him to the Lord. That means they taught him to respect other people,
and all the other Christian values which are so important.

Mathew 7:12
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

It's wonderful when someone like Roy Costner has parents who lead them to the Lord because
the Jewish kid in the other video ( in this same social concerns section) said these exact words: I want
to treat everyone else the way i want to be treated no matter what.
The Jewish kid was praised.
And the Christian kid will be praised too. Just wait and see.

I believe it's a good thing when parents lead their kids to God.
I feel we should praise Roy Costner for saying a prayer OUT LOUD, when the atheists tried to ban it.

You can't stop prayer from being said out loud, so don't even try.
