I loved him. A thoughtful ex-Catholic boy who saw through all the BS.
Penn Gillette was also a religious boy once. He earnestly studied the Bible in Bible Study. He asked questions of the pastor . Too many questions. He eventually was asked to leave the Bible study class. He was making too many Atheists.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. The job of a skeptic generally comes down to critical examination of doubtful claims.

I am an ex-catholic too. I guess technically, I may be an atheist because I don't believe in a personal god like the one in the bible, but I do believe in a higher power - the glue that holds the Universe together: Love. You could say that Love is my religion but that would be too simplistic.
Trying to get spiritual nourishment from a two thousand year old book is like trying to suck milk from the breast of a woman who has been dead that long.

Odd how when there were comments against natives in the last 2 threads you started on the subject, the whole threads were deleted, yet somehow cutting down Christianity is always open game. Imagine starting a thread with a video titled "Natives are full of *bleep*."

Natives are real people.
Christianity is a religion that some pick to be a fan of. Its kinda like picking the Canucks to be your team in the NHL.

But making sweeping generalizations about all Christians is comedy? Talk about being biased

Nope Christianity is an ideology that some people believe in and they give themselves the label of Christian. Why is it that people that choose Christianity over another religion take such offensive? Its no different than a Chevy owner making fun of a Ford.

Some prefer Wendys over Burger King too, but in reality I've never heard of a Subaru suicide bomber, people getting beheaded in the name of Oldsmobile, wars started in the name of Mazda, or people being killed because they have a cartoon of Calvin peeing on a Ford symbol, so it's obviously a poor comparison.
