Historical reference shows us that, in those books the word "tekton" is actually used in the passages of Matthew when speaking to the craft Jesus and family were actively plying. In the Greek classical language of the era, "tekton" referred to 'builder' or 'craftsman'.

Does this mean he was not a 'Carpenter'?
No... This may forever by a known unknown.

Thus, it is important to address the likelihood that he was a Carpenter by paying attention to the period and geography of the region in which he was proclaimed to have existed.

Northern Israel, at the time, offered a landscape of stone, with severely insufficient materials available to allow anyone to solely be a 'carpenter'.

Most likely, Jesus would have provided services as a 'stonemason', chiseling and hammering stone to fashion the bricked buildings of the period -- as was the common practice of that time... but this is not to say he would not have worked with wood.

Rather, it is most likely that the focus of his trade and skill was focused on stone and the resources more readily available and in demand.

Yes, good point! But the Messiah built a Church in Avalon/Glastonbury so he did put his skills as a carpenter to work as it was made of wood and mud.....

I do disagree with your Northern Israel statement.
Northern Israel/Lebanon had much timber back in his day.
The Lebanese Cedars were used to build ships,housing and for trading purposes in ancient times.
All has been logged out now and there are very few of these Lebanese cedars left....

So yes there was still an abundance up wood building materials at the time of the Messiah in 33 AD. But the supply was dwindling....
