Bible truths

Is there a god? What is the meaning of life?

Bible truths

Here’s the place for you to lay down some biblical truths.
Even a miracle or two, if you got ‘em.

Is that a truth joe?
Can someone live in a fish for three days?
I don’t heed your god and I’ve never wallowed about in a fish.
I’m going to have to say that’s not a truth.
Anything else?

Jonah was allegedly swallowed by a fish, not a whale. So why does this topic show a painting of a whale trying to swallow someone and talk about the remains of a whale?

I’m not sure how someone could live inside either a fish or whale. There would be no oxygen in the gut, and no fresh drinking water. Additionally the organs are designed to break things down. It’s a very acidic environment. Many fish and whales swallow their prey whole which are then digested.

The suggestion Jonah could have survived such an environment for 3 days seems to be not evidence against truth in the bible.

Jesus was gay:

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/belief/2012/apr/20/was-jesus-gay-probably

That disciple was John whom Jesus, the gospels affirm, loved in a special way. All the other disciples had fled in fear. Three women but only one man had the courage to go with Jesus to his execution. That man clearly had a unique place in the affection of Jesus. In all classic depictions of the Last Supper, a favourite subject of Christian art, John is next to Jesus, very often his head resting on Jesus's breast. Dying, Jesus asks John to look after his mother and asks his mother to accept John as her son. John takes Mary home. John becomes unmistakably part of Jesus's family.

With the help of Yahweh anything is possible...

Jonah was give a task by God to warn the Assyrian People of their wicked ways....

But Jonah tried to flee from God to Tarshish in Spain.

Or it was called a great fish....

I would guess there weren't any artists available to capture the moment when the whale/great fish spit out Jonah?

I'm sure today everyone has a cell phone camera....it would be captured on camera. LOL

The remains maybe that of a whale or the great fish?

The Whale/great fish hung above Jonah's body for some 2,800 years in Nineveh or known today as Mosul Iraq till only the teeth were left. Hence U.S. Army got involved.

I find great solace in the following verses.

In the season of the Lord I shalt not fear the reaper, neither under the sun, nor the wind, nor the rain. I shalt live like He doth. Come on, mine babe! 2. This message of rock affirmation was brought unto thee by the adverb 'solemnly.'" -Adverbs 14:1-2

The Lord Jesus giveth all words for the language of His people. And when He useth the same word another time, then so be it. As Biblical words they hath far more important usage than of common speak. 2. The first word the Lord did use twice was 'host'. No longer was a host merely an entertainer of guests. Henceforth the host is most importantly known as the Body of the Lord in convenient, tasteless wafers for His Eucharist, or for trips of great length in thine cart with the young ones." -Thesauronians 1:1-2

Why did this god go out of his way to keep a man alive inside a fish for 3 days when that man tried to disobey him? This doesn’t seem consistent with the god’s typical smiteful MO

There's a lawyer who will argue that "truth isn't truth" ya know.

So maybe the biblical stories are based in some sort of truth, or not.
Using cash is one of your few forms of privacy: use it or lose it. 1984 isn't the only Orwell novel that needs to to made fiction again.
