Of course Christmas is a lie. But you knew that, right?

Is there a god? What is the meaning of life?

Well I just used my trusty Blue Letter Bible app to look up the definition of pure religion. It's not how rules and rituals, but about how you treat those in need. Also, not being corrupted by the rule. To be corrupt is to be in it for selfish gain -- to lie, cheat, and steal your way to the top to satisfy your own lusts.

As a Christian, how does this practice worship God?

Giving presents was to imitate the offerings of the three wise men. Geez Louise. :135:

Then why did romans give presents this time of year for hundreds of years before the three wise men would have been born? Or the Greeks before that?

No it does not use the word (christmas)

Kind of funny you feel the need to argue about a bible verse that actually supports what you are saying.

I think it’s funny you’re making a big deal out of a Christmas tree.
Sounds like a barrel of laughs around your place this time of year.
You must be one of the best christians around. Been to any good stonings lately?

Big deal? Lol it's you who wants to argue I merely pointed out a passage in the bible that supports your scepticism regarding a religious event.

By all means enjoy your pagan festivities the passage in the bible does not concern a non Christian anyway.

Btw, it will be pretty quiet at my house as I will join many other hypocrites who collect time and a half pay up here in the patch knowing well that us Christians made up the holiday to quash you pagans drunken shenanigans

I kind of miss our family tradition of getting together to celebrate the pagan/christian holiday while I patiently wait for it to switch to the Peruvian festivities called takankuy

(Google it) pretty sure our family isn't the only one who followed this custom

No they are not , Jeremiah says not to be like the people who cut down trees and decorate them.

What it does show is the bible recognizes the custom of cutting down trees and decorating them belong to others and tells us not to follow their custom

Way to miss the point, why follow that and not the part about killing people who work on the sabbath or killing witches?

At my age, I steam up the mirror on purpose before I exit the shower, even I don't want to see that
