Christopher Hitchens was a really really smart man. He could undress anyone in a debate. He could take on five Christians in a debate and win, he could lambast political correctness with ease, and he could slam capitalism in his sleep.

I used to respect him and think he was really smart, but then he became a dumb far-right Islamophobic hatemongering bigoted nazi near the end of his life by criticizing Islam. Too bad because now I can't share his videos because of his far-rightness.

Criticizing Islam makes one a dumb far-right islamophobic hatemongering bigot nazi? removed
I agree with Hitchens’ criticism of Islam and religion in general. Does that make me a far-right islamophobic hatemongering bigoted nazi? Because just recently I was accused of being a far-left pinko, commie Pompey, limey full of hate. I must be a man of many talents.

Anyway here’s Hitch on the barbaric religion Islam.

You’re not a mod. Hit the report icon, let them do their job.
You don’t watch the vids anyway. The truth scares you.

ETA. If you haven’t guessed, no one is engaging you because you and your conspiracy theories are not worthy.

Atheism is the fastest growing belief than all other religions.

United States alone approximately 22.8% of the population now identifies as atheist, up 6.7% from 2007. Furthermore, U.S. atheists now represent a larger portion of the population than Catholics, Protestants, and all other followers of non Christian faiths – such as Islam and Buddhism. This was not the case only a decade ago.

No, but regular mainstream media and mainstream leftists (but I repeat myself) vehemently object by calling a hate mongering bigoted racist if you criticize Islam. It's why even among the left atheists are one of the most despised religious groups. Progressive activist do not take kindly to people who criticize minority religions.

Personally, I think all religions and all ideas should be criticized. It's the only way to move forward and improved as a society.

Lol nice a subtle there Glacier. That’s for the other thread.

Atheism is the minority...for now. It’s certainly not a religion.

I didn't say it was a religion. It's an answer to a religious question. If you look at the polling data, they include unbelievers, atheists, agnostics, etc. Even though they are not religions.

I think you know what I meant. I'm using the language the scientific literature uses. Sorry if that offends you. No need to argue over semantics. https://www.pewforum.org/2017/02/15/ame ... us-groups/

PS. Atheists are sometimes more religious than christians. https://www.theatlantic.com/internation ... ns/560936/

I honestly didn’t yesterday...I was having a day.
Your link clears it up.
I can only suggest that American atheists are more “religious” in their non-belief due to the overwhelming evangelical climate in that country. The devout like to throw around the term “atheist religion” as if to somehow even the playing field.

The evangelical grip is definitely loosening in the U.S. by their own abhorrent actions alone.
