Well, after 80 pages of comments about Costco moving I put an end to all of the rumors. Went to Costco this evening and on my way out I filled out one of those Comment/Suggestion cards and told them that they will have to stay in their present location because it "suits me the best" and "do not listen to those peons south of the bridge, let them eat cake".

From the letters today :

A 20-minute trip will extend into a 40-minute trip. Navigating bridge traffic and holding my breath as I drive over and under an overpass that fell apart shortly after it was built.

How does this lady even leave the house?

I hope they move Coscto to the Westside just so this lady has to get over her fear of overpasses.

Like wow, the overpass retaining walls collapsed a bit almost 10 years ago, how does that equate to being fearful of the entire thing collapsing?

It's a joke, all these people complaining are just your average Karens upset that something is going to mildly inconvenience them. To anyone who has had to commute from west kelowna to kelowna or vice versa they know that while it's irritating, bridge traffic is not the end of the flippin world, even in rush hour.

I will be looking forward to seeing this happen.... unfortunately I will be pushing up daisy by that time. lol

Before that please provide an example of a place with the population of the central Okanagan (no more then this population, it can be less) that costco currently has 2 stores in. Anywhere in the world

A $7M fine for a company that's annual revenue is in the billions? Yeah, I don't think so.

Greater Vancouver with a population of what 2½ million, has 5 stores.

Kelowna 150,000 ?
West Kelowna 35,000 ?
Vernon 40,000 ?
Penticton 35,000

So the Okanagan ? 275,000 from Vernon to the border ?

The demographics of some of the areas dictate that, for most, travelling over half an hour to shop is out of the question.

It took me a half an hour to get from my home in Coquitlam to the lumber yard, and it was IN Coquitlam. A different mind set in the OK from the Lower Mainland.

Wherever Costco are going to build, it will be bigger with more parking, but once built, the old one will be sold.

They count on being full of shoppers with full shopping carts. No express lanes at Costco.
