While the church may not directly and specifically say, "Go forth and screw thy donkey instead of thy unmarried females", they sure don't tell them not to. In a roundabout way, the church sanctions this because it achieves their end objective - virgin brides and babies born after wedlock instead of before. The guys get their "fun" and the church turns a blind eye - unless the schools where they teach the boys to do this are religious schools and then that's a whole 'nother thing, isn't it?
Here we go again opened a brand new venue for the anti religious gang yep "grab the soapbox"
Lets just call this for what it is some dumb azzs screwing donkeys and even dumber pigs wanting to show the film and sickos that want to view it.
Its just that simple !

I think this whole issue actually represents the overarching failure of this city - the notion that, because one or several people don't agree with something or won't do/watch it, it should therefore be banned for others.

There's such a list of things that people argue should be banned, cancelled, or not done, and most of these things would not affect that person in the slightest way. However, because they don't agree with it, they further make the point that it shouldn't be made available to others.

It's disappointing and actually quite embarrassing that we often try to call ourselves a community.

News flash: Because you don't like it, doesn't mean that it should not be available.

Who needs me to be a "moral compass" ?? I'm not interested in the job and wasn't applying for it anyway...
It's just MY opinion.

If you ever come to my house though, please make it known that you think people @#$%^& donkeys is on your list of morally accepted behaviours BEFORE you ask to come in ...ok .

There's your problem.

You seem to think that those people who don't want a documentary censored automatically condone the actions in the documentary. I do not condone animal sex. I also don't condone suicide, but I think the documentary The Bridge is a great film.

If you believe that everything you choose to watch on TV or in theatre is automatically and suddenly condoned by you, that's fine. But do not, for a second, think that other people condone everything that they see on TV.

One need not find the practice of donkey boinking morally acceptable to think it would be okay for that film to be shown at a film festival.

I watched a film once. Guy got murdered. I don't think murder is morally acceptable.

I mean...seriously...how is this amazing knowledge going to contribute to the betterment of our society as a whole ?

Does a documentary really need to be produced about every sicko out there that performs illegal acts?

I'm having a hard time understanding why this 'film' could possibly be considered important information for anyone to know about.
grammafreddy wrote: Its not really about sex with their donkeys - its about what the males will do and have done for centuries to get their rocks off but keep their females pure for the marriage bed. Traditions passed down from fathers to sons, taught to the boys in the schools, power and control and religion ... girls don't get pregnant outside of marriage - to the betterment of their society as a whole.

Religions advocate some pretty sicko stuff, eh?

Why? I like the free flow of information and learning about cultures I would have never known existed. Just because it's controversial doesn't mean consenting adults shouldn't be able to make the choice to watch it. It's not being broadcast in prime time TV.

zzontar wrote:Then what did you mean by religion advocating sick stuff? Seeing as the sick thing in question is having sex with donkeys, how does their religion advocate that, and what religion are they?
I've noticed any time gramma can say something or anything negative about religion, she will bring it on in...
