I'm sure the jury will arrive at an appropriate conclusion based on evidence provided.
It was a terrible tragedy and I'm sure justice will prevail.

The sad fact is that even if this scumbag is found guilty, the sentence will be a joke.
Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death.

^^ if he is convicted of 1st degree murder - which he is charged with, he will get an automatic 25 years w/o parole

If he is found guilty, 25 years wouldn't be enough, he should never walk free again. And none of this escorted day pass garbage either.

At 25 years, he would still be plenty young enough to attack some other woman, I don't care if he gets religion and is "a changed person". He can be a changed person and stay in prison.

Re: Forester murder trial
I posted this a while back in the Vernon area forum, which isn't quite active.... but my concern is this.. The murder occurred back in 2011 - I believe he was arrested early 2012 and I think 3 or 4 times has had this brought to court only to have him fire his lawyer and need an extension.
For the lawyers out there (and I mean the ones that are actual lawyers, not ones that watch actors portray lawyers on tv) but could he not argue : Section 11 - Any person charged with an offence has the right... (b) to be tried within a reasonable time.
It would not be a fair arguement as HE was the result of the delays, but I know we've all seen just as corrupt attempts in the courts before.
Is any castanetter out there actually sitting in the courtroom for this trial?
My heart goes out to the young victims family, I hope this process gives them closure soon.

Terrible is an understatement. Tragic is more like it. Justice may prevail at a legal system level, but that is not just enough in my book. True justice would be facing the father, brothers if they exist, cousins and friends for a good old justice party so this person can experience the gravity of the pain he has caused so many for what????????? What purpose or reason can a sane human have to do this to a someone so young and so not deserving???

Don't have a lot of hope in a system that has already given the bus-riding beheader day parole.

It's not uncommon for people like this to see the light once caught, sadly if they would have seen the light first we wouldn't be reading about them!
No amount of reprogramming will fix that person from reoffending.

Let's show a little respect for a slimy scumbag, and at least spell his name right... or not.
Anyway, for those who need a refresher...

Re: Forester murder trial
So he is pleading "not guilty" because "he didn't mean to kill her; he was only trying to have sex with her."
LOL, um, a truly remorseful person would have been able to use the proper word to describe their actions -- rape.

Re: Forester murder trial
I predict manslaughter, 10 years, credit for 2 served, out in 8 tops. The sad truth of our justice system is that there is no such thing. Tough on crime, my a**.
Disgusting.
