Re: Nice weather
I went to the Greenery today with my daughter, and she (and my son) bought me 2 hanging baskets for Mother's Day (beat the rush). I asked when I could put them outside, without cover and the answer was "when it is 12 degrees or more, consistently over night.
So, soon maybe?

Re: Nice weather
I want to have a yard sale this weekend.
Yard sale.
Did you hear that Oh Great Weather Maker?
QK > YARD SALE.
There, that should make for a change in the forecast.

Regardless of who "wins" an election, they always are up against a Silent Elite. Do you believe the extreme poor who voted for Trump ever thought their non-profit support would be slashed right out from under them?

Re: Nice weather
Why are people crying "heat wave"? The low thirties is a nice summer day, hardly a heat wave. Picnic weather. Save your crying for when it breaks forty degrees.

Re: Nice weather

I commented on CBC that I was loving it.
Some yahoo, Bill Gardner, got his panties all in a knot, "peoples homes are burning down, how dare you.
So I told him I would find the nearest Tesla dealer, if that would satisfy him.
It didn’t.

Don't take my silence to mean I've agreed with you; I easily could've just lost interest in explaining how wrong you are.

Re: Nice weather
There are 106 weather stations in BC (84 if you don't count the lighthouse stations), so Summerland finished yesterday as one of the coldest spots in the province. Only 28.5C
Squamish, right by the ocean, hit 35.8.
BTW, the Kelowna station at UBCO was the hottest location in the valley yesterday.
Some people have speculated that this station is poorly sited. I've gone and looked at it UBCO station (see below). It is better than most, and actually better than the Osoyoos station. One thing no one talks about is that accurately measuring temperature is really hard, even at the best of times. And using semiconductor material that digital thermometer use makes it a lot harder than the old school way of using alcohol or mercury. Digital thermometers drift over time (often as much as 10% per year) so if they aren't calibrated regularly they can be quite far off before you know it.
This problem is amplified due to the fact that digital thermometers react non-linearly with temperature, so error goes up exponentially with extreme heat and extreme cold.
Here is a picture I took of the UBCO station...

Severe thunderstorms in the Greystokes area, slow moving and dropping lots of rain. That area drains into mission creek.

I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.
