And on the weekend Alberta is going to get hit with a MASSIVE thunderstorm! This map shows the Sunday forecast for dewpoint temperature (how dry the air is). Dewpoint temperature is how cool the air has to get before it you get dew (100% humidity). When you have dry air smash into wet air, you get thunderboomers! Classic Alberta setup where wet from the Gulf of Mexico meets dry from the west.

We lucked out in Kamloops. Wind died down about an hour before the scheduled start, then started up five minutes after the fireworks finished.
Impressive show.
