Rolling thunder in Vernon area now. Cloud cover (what can be seen of it) seems too high and too thin to produce rain, but we can hope

In Rutland we had a few brief sprinkles, but it cleared the air of the smoke. While waiting for dog to do his business outside last night, I was treated to quite the light show. Lighting taking up half the sky . . .
I haven't failed until I quit.

I woke up to beautiful sunshine this morning, and the air is so clear!
I also woke up to puddles in our basement stairwell and a husband who was concerned that the irrigation may have some issues. But after checking around, the ground is quite wet and I'd have to say it looks like there was a substantial rainstorm while I was sleeping . . .

Got wet and cold this morning watering garden plants when a downpour in Vernon happened. Very sudden, lasted 5 minutes but was soaked to the skin.
Now I am in the midst of a snowstorm on my deck with
elm seeds from a 50 foot high Siberian elm tree at the corner on next block …. It’s shedding like crazy into a blustery breeze. Deck completely covered, again, with those freakin’ seeds!! Every nook and cranny is filled with seeds including the screen door tracks. Yuk. Yech!
