I saw that. Looking good for planting tomatoes.

One thing I've noticed about the Okanagan is that Spring is a very short season here. In other areas it seems to last longer.

While I'm looking forward to planting my tomatoes, I wouldn't mind lingering in the 20s a bit before we blow past into the 30s.

I actually disagree. I think the Okanagan has a longer spring than other places. The transition from winter to summer is much quicker on the Prairies for example than it is here.

I don't have any experience in the prairies, to be honest. Growing up in Clearwater we had a lingering spring, though. Things didn't get hot until later in June.

I guess it really depends how you define summer, winter, and spring...

I think of spring as up to around 25 degrees. Any warmer and we're into summer temps.

Around 5 degrees or so, when things start to warm, and you can smell the earth. I realize it is all completely subjective and has nothing to do with actual dates. :admin: Just like I feel fall starts when it gets cooler at night (7 degrees & lower?) and there is a certain smell in the air, and winter for me starts when things freeze.

Fairbanks, AK has snow this week. This is the first time since 1989 that they have had snow after the leaves have come out.

It's interesting, Fairbanks, AK has their leaves come out long before 100 mile house... or McCulloch Lake... because of the long hours of light and a much lower elevation.

Going to be a hot one this weekend.

Yesterday was the first 30 degree day of the year in Canada:

30.1°C Lytton
30.0°C Squamish
29.7°C Hope
29.6°C Lillooet/Pemberton
29.1°C Ashcroft
29.0°C Cultus Lake
28.2°C Osoyoos
28.0°C Agassiz
27.7°C Kamloops/Port Alberni
27.2°C North Cowichan
27.0°C Clearwater
26.9°C Nelson
26.6°C Kelowna/Pitt Meadows

Tonight's solar storm is going to be amazing. Could interfere with some electrical equipment, especially in the north.

Is it viewable?
Would it be worthwhile driving high up on a hill with my wife, away from the city lights?
After the Canucks game of course.
