Nice weather

Re: Green Christmas in Kelowna?

It wasn't entirely green ( my place did have enough snow to coat the ground white). Much further north in Williams Lake it was definitely a snowless Christmas...

Nope.

Finally feels like Winter out there, now I no longer feel like we're in a weird World.

When you have to start compromising yourself and your morals for the people around you, it’s probably time to change the people around you.

Kelowna drivers operate best with at least 15+ cm, that also goes for the excellent snow removal in the central Okanagan.

I just removed the snow from my parking spot and walkway .... TWICE ALREADY ...

I wish the mailman could walk in snow as well as my wife can drive in it ...

Suppose to be +6C on Saturday and will be all back to green! Then clear skies for weeks!

MAP, just did the decks for the 3rd time ... driveway and walkway can wait until the morning. MAKE IT STOP NOW!

ALERTS IN EFFECT
Snowfall Warning
Issued at 23:41 Friday 28 December 2018
Snowfall with total amounts of about 20 cm is expected.

A low pressure system will continue to give snow heavy at times to much of the southern Interior tonight. As the low moves to Alberta, the snow will taper off to a few flurries Saturday evening. Total snow accumulations up to 20 cm can be expected.

In addition to heavy snow, this system will also produce strong winds tonight through Saturday. These winds combined with falling snow may locally reduce visibility further in blowing snow.

NOW it's winter (Dec 29) - woke up to a beautiful winter wonderland, got the warm fuzzies and admired it for quite a while. It truly is spectacular before any tire tracks or footprints mar the perfection, and with the moonlight and street lights making it twinkle. Can't wait to put on all the True North garb we Canadians have and go for a good long trudge in it today and get those rosy cheeks! Then home for a nice big hot choc with Carolans and some cookies!

After that, I'm good. Enough of the Norman Rockwell sentiment that makes us all squidgey at the first snowfall. The novelty will have worn off, Santa got here just fine without it, so once I get the tree down after New Years Day, I would really like it to just buzz off til next winter. All it's going to do now is cause problems and be a pain in the nether regions. If I find I'm missing it I'll just toddle on up to Biggie for the day - down here I'm ready for Spring - bring on the crocuses! :D
