Spotted one accident all day, not bad considering.
Take heart all, it's all meltin' away right now.
And sunshine is predicted for New Year's Eve and Day.
My two days off!
Here I thought there was nothing lower than a snakes belly in a rut in a ditch. I was wrong.

I didn't leave the house all day yesterday, didn't even get out of my pj's!

I do have to go out today though. Hoping the roads on my route have been sanded at least.

Bit of a rain storm rolled thru late last night. Drove the temperature up to 5 degrees in a matter of minutes. I'm honestly surprised there's any snow left.

I'll never forget the time Kelowna got nearly a foot of snow and it all melted in a few days. Pretty sure it was like 10 degrees in the middle of the night. That was 2010-2011.

The snow is mostly gone at lake elevation now. Piles still remain of course. Other parts of town won't be too far behind if its warm again tomorrow. Looks like the mild trend will continue all winter!

https://www.castanet.net/edition/news-s ... htm#245907

Parts of the BC interior were walloped with snow today, lower elevations included, but not a single flake in Kelowna. A bit surprising we didn't pick up a few centimeters from that system, or rain even. It totally missed us.

Coldest its been at my place so far this season... -6.8! However, I'm both inner city and by the lake, so its been a few degrees colder most places. A typical winter I will record around -17 or -18 on the coldest night. Last year only got to -14.3, even with the colder winter. Two winters ago it hit -18.5. Last time I recorded <-20 was January 2012.
