That's pretty close to the official EC forecast! 7 days... 0 and no snow!

NEW RECORD FOR KELOWNA!

On Saturday at 12 pm, the wind speed in Kelowna was 54 km/h.

That's the highest wind speed ever recorded in February in Kelowna.

The old record of 50km/h was set February 5th, 1990.

A friend just called me from Richmond. I had to laugh as he was telling me about the 6" of snow that fell last night. He got 90% of his driveway cleared before he got tired and gave up.
He is going to buy a tractor today, because there is more coming tonight.
Sporting events and some schools have declared a "snow day".

Note to self: diarize to check Richmond classified ads in June for 'barely used snowblowers and tractors for sale'

It's a massive amount of snow though. As in, it will be up to 3 feet deep in some areas by tomorrow morning.
This is a once in 25 year event hitting the south coast!

Nanaimo. Watch the video.

my MIL has had 2 inches of snow in just the past hour alone, and that's in Seattle.

Starting to snow here now too. 5 centimeters expected tonight.

The 4 hours of heavy flurries last night didn't show on the radar at all. I'm thinking it must have been lake effect snow. A localized system would usually be low enough that the radar beams wouldn't detect it. I measured 1.5 centimeters this morning, so that's quite substantial for Okanagan lake effect snow if true. Usually its only a few flurries totaling 0.2cm or less.
