What's wrong with curly willows? I think they look cool.
You are invited to come over and pick up all the branches it drops in my yard. Large, medium, small, tiny branches, daily.

And yes, Truthy, I know I'm right about the weather.
So you're getting free kindling and still complaining? [icon_lol2.gif]

I don't see it as kindling, maybe if I was a camper. To me it's a lot of labour in the yard. When I was younger, I was ok with it, but the tree has grown and I've grown older. It's a legitimate complaint. Come live with this monster and see how you do in a few years with it.

I agree, our neighbour's pine is a pain as well.

I'm a little shocked it is raining again outside.
I got a little yard work in, but not much. I need to get much more done before next week so I can safely move my plants!

Looks like some 30 degree heat coming early next week. Hopefully its short lived though, we haven't had enough mid to high 20s days yet. Let it be 30+ in July. This scenario reminds me of 2017 where we went from teens to 30s in 2 weeks, however that happened in May not June.

This wet spring could backfire in a huge way. Grasses and small plants have grown much bigger than normal. If we shift into a dry and hot summer, that will mean more fuel to burn. This exact scenario also happened in 2017 where we shifted from one of the wettest springs on record to one of the driest summers. Only time will tell.

We are coming up to the 1 year anniversary of the heat dome. I still can't believe it was 45 degrees here!

A bit chilly this morning. -4 at my mom's place. Kinda hard on the garden. Probably killed most of potatoes.

Official station was down to -3, which was by FAR the coldest place in Canada today. It always gets cold out there at night when a bit of a heatwave is coming. When it was +40 last summer the temperature was still down to +9 at night.

Does your mom have a greenhouse? Sounds like she could use one! :200:

It rained last night, quite a bit from the looks of it.

A small one. My mom mostly grows crops that like frost like kale. It's rare to get frost this late in the year, but certainly not unheard of. That's what happens when you live at 1000m elevation in BC. Even down in the Okanagan you can get frost any month of the year at 1000m.

My app says I'm at 456.9 m. Wonder where that Kelowna figure is measured at? :135:

Okanagan Lake surface elevation shows 342 m, 1122 ft.

I'm posting this from Traditional lands of the British Empire & the current Lands of The Dominion of Canada.

Yes and I wouldn't think Crawford is 100+m higher, but perhaps it is. :135:
