It is quite clear that some have absolutely no empathy and very little/no understanding of addiction and the struggles faced by the individuals/their families...They likely also don't care and won't care unless they happened to be directly affected either...

No, that's not what giggly meant.

Some people are too broken to be fixed. There's a reason we use the term "hooked" to describe addiction. It suggests that the addict can't get away.

None to speak of. The hall on that site has ceased operations (I think) but it's still standing.

Just read in an actual newspaper, there is no funding to continue with this project.

Bad form on freedom's door's part. Should probably have had their funding in place or at least to know if their proposal met funding guidelines... before going to war with the community.

I did notice that the house right next door to the proposed site sold very quickly.

Mixed feelings. I know Kelowna needs this facility in the worst way. So in that sense this is sad

On the other hand. Rutland didnt need or want this. So for the people who would be most effected by this. I am happy they are spared whatever fears or real concerns they may have had.

I think a similar facility somewhere 30 miles from the nearest town would be a great idea.
Now they want to take our guns away . That would be just fine. Take em away from the criminals first . Ill gladly give u mine. "Charlie Daniels"

He wasn't able to glom that 4 mill huh.
5 million and free property wasn't enough to build tiny units at 100k a door.
Lol.

That whole gig was all about the money, from day one.

The one at 1008 aldon behind it went 6 weeks ago for 15% over assessed too.
It also sold quickly.

I'm glad to see it not go ahead.
It didn't fit the neighborhood.
It was only a great spot in the charities mind coz the land came free.
If they had to pay 2 mill for that corner its the last place they woulda considered.

That's simply Horgan pulling funding from a project in a non-NDP riding. The NDP did that throughout the 1990s, why would anyone think they wouldn't do it now? Same old NDP.

While I don't think it would have been the doomsday scenario people were predicting, I don't live anywhere near that area or any other neighborhood that has a facility of that sort so I don't feel qualified to judge.
