My buddy just sent me a picture of his drive in Spences Bridge where it's 34C, and everyone can't run their cars for A/C because the gas station in Spences Bridge closed a few years ago. Bumper to bumper.

Brutal, but at least Princeton has gas stations.

I'll never forget the American tourist who thought Aspen Grove was a town (because of the dot on the map) and thought she could gas up there.

Spence's Bridge is a 45 min drive into Merritt if you don't have traffic slowing you down. God, Glad we didn't go anywhere this weekend.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

Left Kelowna at around 6:15 am Monday morning and got into Cloverdale at 11:15am via Merritt, Spencer Bridge Fraser Canyon Route. On return trip from North Vancouver left at around 7:45pm drove Hwy 3 Hope Princeton route and got into Kelowna at midnight. Traffic wasn't bad either way at those times but I would imagine the afternoon travellers heading west did experience mega congestion.

Works out to an average speed 108.0 Kilometers per hour (+/- depending on actual distance traveled.... I used 458 Kms)

Something sure doesn't seem right because I remember years ago when the only two routes to the lower mainland was either through the Hope/Princeton or the Fraser Canyon and then it was an eight hour drive(with Mom driving). Yes, I admit there were times that I was travelling at 140km per hour between Burnaby and Hope but I quickly slowed down to within the posted speed limit. The Hope/Princeton was definately slower and there wasn't any gas or pee breaks along the way so as to the four hour 15 minutes trip from North Van to Kelowna, averaging a speed of 108km as Gordon H mentioned earlier does make this very possible.
