It does not take long before any sand applied gets pushed to the side and you are back to glare ice. Sand at intersections and steep angled streets needs to be applied VERY HEAVY, not sprinkled as I have witnessed pretty much all the time (cost savings)...............SALT!

ya heaven forbid they put some sand down or buy a few pieces of equipment at least there was 20 plus mil laying around for a trail purchase

Hwy 33 and 97 are provincial highways , whick are maintained by the province

Via private contractors, who will try to save money anyway they can.

yes but its Harvey avenue through town not highway 97

Grabbed my fat bike and been riding back into the bush. Love it! Not as much adrenaline as my trail bike but still a good time and what a work out. Not to mention how quiet and peaceful it is and the beauty of the snow in the trees.

That's actually something I want to try this year, but keep the snow off the valley bottom, :up:
