This seems like payback for getting "cheap" gas all summer.

Re: Gas $139.9
As soon as I saw that on Castanet, I quickly ran down to my local gas station. Too late, already at $139.9/lt. I should have filled up this morning at $129.9. I would have saved $6.00

LOL.
Given the price of a barrel of oil, I'd hardly call what we were paying "cheap". I seem to recall paying around $0.69 liter when oil was about $60 a barrel.
The only thing certain with gasoline is we will always get screwed.
This is a 20 cent jump within a week.
Given that we ship oil south, it's hard to rationalize how a pipeline in the southern US being shut down, has anything to do with what we have to pay for fuel up here. Then again big oil has proven again and again, that any fluctuation in world events as a whole, is cause to hike fuel prices.

Re: Gas $139.9
My favorite is to put it in the same context as someone in USA..
It jumped .60/gallon in one week. More than half a dollar.
Washington is 2.92/gallon.. if went to 3.52 in a week there would be absolute chaos.

Gas Prices Aghhhhh
Ok, whats going on. In 2014 gas was $1.39 or so per liter and a barrel of oil was trading at $105.00. Today, gas went up to $1.39 per liter and oil is trading at $55.00 per barrel or so. Dam I'm getting tired of getting screwed. Government is loving it because of their take per liter so they would never push to have it competitive. Just one more pull on my families pocket book.

As a former gas bar clerk, I just want to remind people that the folks who work at the station have zero control over the price they sell at - that's all controlled by someone in an office somewhere.
So as annoyed or angered as you are, please don't take it out on the clerks and the people who are behind the counter. They're just doing their jobs.

Huh? What does it have to do with the government? This would have happened no matter who was the government in power.
I was wondering that too, but then again turnabout is fair play, given all the crazy stuff the NDP sycophants keep blaming on the Liberals.
The NDP want to kibosh the Kinder Morgan Pipeline, so the Alberta oil barons have decided to teach us a lesson where it hurts the most, our wallets. That sounds like a plausible reason to blame the NDP.

To be fair, this has nothing to do with BC/Canadian politics.

It has to do with a pipeline leak and a repair.

My smart for two holds 40 liters. It was half empty so I filled it at 1.29. Took me a half hour to get out, fill up and get back.
Saved myself two bucks.
Victory.
