Prolific theft duo nabbed

A Surrey couple faces more than 150 criminal charges for break and enter, theft and fraud.

Surrey RCMP’s Property Crime Target Team has been investigating several apartment complex break and enters in which suspects were targeting communal mailboxes and underground parking garages between August and October.

The two suspects were identified through video surveillance footage.

Police arrested them at a hotel room in Surrey and executed search warrants at two locations, where they found a number of stolen IDs, banking documents and credit cards.

Serena Goth, 43, and Calvin Cranmore, 36, face a total of 157 property crime related offences, including break and enter, fraud, possession of stolen property, possession of ID and credit card data, theft and impersonation.

The two remain in custody pending a bail hearing.

I wonder if they were jailed after the 3rd one, how close to 157 they woulda got.

I bet if they were clocked with a bat during #1, they wouldn't have got to #2.

Yes....one was stabbed and the other received serious head injury and is still in hospital.

This SOB needs to be charged with 2 counts of attempted murder along with whatever charges can be brought on the home invasions. No, seriously, nothing less that 2 counts of attempted murder but watch, he'll get assault with a weapon as a lesser charge - they always wimp out and go for the lesser charge OR the scumbag of a defence lawyer will plead him down....

I would say that it certainly comes under the classification of" be prepared to defend yourself". Although in this case these people were likely caught by surprise and had little time to prepare.

It was great that the off duty officer intervened, who knows what might have happened ?

Now the lawyers and courts can start working on getting him back on the street.

Probably say he was high on drugs and didn't know what he was doing so not responsible for his actions and be sent for rehabilitation.

You are probably right - but if he went into those houses armed then common sense dictates that he had every intention of using that weapon to get away, or do the owner harm, if he was caught. Thing is common sense doesn't seem to have any place in "law".

I believe it's been said "the law is an *bleep*" or something similar.....and proven every single day in Canada...
