Another closure on Hwy 33, use Cardinal Creek Road and Goudie Road as a detour.

Hwy 33 washout

Post by sklevang »

99.9% of joe richers foresaw this. Water pounding the ditch on the other side of the highway for weeks/months. Yet Argo and highways put up tiny signs and went ‘oh ya - handled!’.

Yep, this section of the highway has been flooded for a month. Argo's response was putting up signs of flooding (and ice when it was colder) and doing nothing about it. Now road will be closed for a long time significantly impacting residents as well as businesses that use the highway. Traffic will now detour around Goudie, which is 50kph and has several sharp corners. Poor maintenance by this contractor. Perhaps we need performance $$ built into these contracts. If they already are, Argo should lose money over this. Pure luck no one was hurt.

A South Okanagan family is counting their blessings after a mudslide wiped out a shed, narrowly missing a home Friday night near Twin Lakes.
Truths can be backed up by facts - do you have any?
