Unreal only spot in town 24 /7 pay on street parking is in front of emergency.
Now they want to take our guns away . That would be just fine. Take em away from the criminals first . Ill gladly give u mine. "Charlie Daniels"

Lol it's another money grab for the city. They could care less if your hurt or dieing just make sure you feed the parking meter and put the slip on the dash. I personally think out of all places to pay for parking the hospital should not be one of them. It's a :cuss: joke.

And thank goodness for that. It will more likely be available when people really need it.

Do you have a source for the parking regulations?

It would make more sense to have you register your car when checking into the ER for free parking in a designated area and check out when you leave.

Pretty tough to know how long someone will be in there for. Heck its hard to even keep track of time in the hospital. Those wheels turn slow in there. Chemotherapy complications mean i am frequently at the jospital for my mother . I would like to see the focus of healthcare be on the sick and elderly.

Last night was a gong show.

Security in the ER waiting room is a joke. Some messed up looser was pawing at my mother. I told him enuff. Then he went after an old fella and his walker device. So me and another guy sat the loser down. Finally security got off their iphones when the little blonde charge nurse came unhinged on the creep .

So needless to say we were 2 hrs before we got in the door .

Paying for parking at emergency does not seem fair .

That would make too much sense. Nothing like having a life and death emergency then have to deal with a massive fine because you didn't plug the meter.
I also love how they sell one month passes but when you go to park there are no spots. Had premie twins in neonatal care for 3 weeks. Wasted $50 on a month pass I could never use and then added the stress of finding a spot on top of the stress I was already feeling. Good times:)

You do know that the place is STILL working over capacity , right ? ..

On the parking note , there is apparently no payed staff parking available in the parkade anymore .... So while it does suck to have to go to KGH any time for any reason , just imagine having to go there for work every 4 days out of 6 IF you don't have one of those coveted staff parking pass ???..
I payed attention in High school....But not to what they were trying to teach me..

I live a 10-15 minute walk from KGH, and I see LOTS of people in scrubs walking to and from. Factoring in the time to drive, then to walk once you've parked, and that 12 hr shift is creeping up on a 14-hr day.

As far as Emerg, there is free parking in the drop off lane, though you're not supposed to park there indefinitely. I've used it for as long as two hours, though your mileage may vary of course.
My fervent hope is that you and your tax dollars will be reunited in the afterlife.

We used to live a 30 second walk to KGH in an IHA owned house .. They kicked us out....

And "peoplekind" wonder why there are parking problems there ...

Yes, I suppose the fact that I was rolling in at 4 AM might have had something to do with it...

I visit the hospital frequently to see a specialist and usually find the parking across the street in a parkade.

Said this years ago in another thread.

When the last couple rounds of expansion happened at KGH, in my mind
the monies and energies should have been put into a separate Hospital
out by the Airport, just as all the old Pier Mac lands were starting to
become available. Plenty of it for future growth.
or,
Just across the bridge, by the old bandstand over-looking the lake.
It would still have been within eyesight of KGH and close enough that
service connections and over-lap were not too far out of reach.

I never thought this before, but I do now, after a lengthy stay.

The view one has while layed up is very helpful and theraputic
in the ways of recovery and/or peace.

They never should have hobbled and crammed so much more into the
present location of KGH.
What did they think was going to happen ?
They were even told by many, of all walks and position, that it would
be a cluster.
And cluster it is.
"Don't 'p' down my neck then tell me it's raining!"

Was there last night, I just get the wife to drop me off at the door and text her when I'm done. I thought my record was better but I probably visit once a year or so from various motorcycle/mtn bike type injuries.
