Haha ! Say your shift started at 7 pm tonight and you're off at 7 am tomorrow morning ?

You gonna ride your bike ?

It's February 28th and there's snow on the ground .. Imagine the middle of January ???

Really ???

Do you think anyone would , or should be forced to rely on a bicycle as a mode of transportation in that weather ?

Never mind it be an overnight shift ...

Thanks to GordonH for pointing out that I missed that its only January.
I payed attention in High school....But not to what they were trying to teach me..

Should we be forced to ride a bicycle?
Well, I am glad you asked.
The planner at city hall is a competitive biker, at least in his former life.
He has also indicated he likes Amsterdam, San Francisco.
He thinks Kelowna should be like Amsterdam.
Have you noticed the newer bike lanes in the Ethel/Sutherland corridor?
They seem to change design every block or so.
Lots of concrete, asphalt, and obstruction signs on metal pipes...
So buckle up...day or night...AND wear your helmet

Reality of riding a bicycle in winter is totally lost at city hall.

Casy60 thinks bike riding in winter is lost on city hall.
Not at all. Kelowna is DIFFERENT.
Not long ago, it was commonly referred to as Palm Springs North.
That is until someone pointed out that unlike Palm Springs, Kelowna has 6 months of winter.
Now they have toned the rhetoric down.
It's now known as Shangri la, at least according to talk radio, which I think, loosely translated means "an imaginary place of peace and tranquility".
No snow, and you can ride a bike 365 days a year [icon_lol2.gif]
