With any luck that worthless piece of *bleep* won’t last 6 months before having a little prison justice meted out on him.

Will this fella be in trouble in jail for his record of assaulting women or is that treatment just for child abusers ?

I've always felt that if an offender is released on mandatory release or parole, and he re-offends, that he then owes the system the time for which he was paroled. His new sentence should be served, with no parole or mandatory release, and then he should serve the time that he owes from earlier offenses.
Obviously, he wasn't rehabilitated from his first offense and he should therefore serve the rest of that sentence. Any bets on whether or not he goes back to dealing when he gets out in a couple of years?

I can't imagine that Mr. McWhirter will seek out a straight job on his release. He might stay on the right side of the law for a while, if people are willing to help him do that, but what other life does he know? I can't imagine he goes from dealing drugs to hanging drywall or something.
Unfortunately, almost everyone in prison has folks on the outside hoping they "get theirs". While violence is a reality there, not many inmates are willing to extend their stay to help us live out our revenge fantasies. Mr. McWhirter will be among like-minded people, and will probably fit in just fine.

Yes he should rot in jail, however, what about the money it cost to prosecute him, how much will it cost us to keep in in "Protective Custody"?
How much as his "Crime Business" cost us taxpayers in rehabilitation costs to his "Customers", their frequent hospital visits and over all police costs - 10's of millions - that how much, not to mention the people that have died from his "Crime Business". And he is just ONE of thousands taking advantage of Canadian "Liberalism".
Maybe instead of blowing kisses, they should be handed a bill on his behalf - then see how much they "Endear" this piece of crap.
Sorry, but the Philippine's have a great solution to human garbage such as this and their crime rate has dropped enormously. Unfortunately, we are ruled by fanatical socialistic "Liberals" who put the poor criminal and his/her rights in front of those that actually work and pay the bills in this country.
Someone once said - "what if it were your child that was in this "Crime Business", and my answer, is - we all make choices - if you want to be a contributing member of society and follow the rules of civilization, then you will make me a proud father. If you decide to follow the path of death and destruction of others, you not only dishonour me, but also your forefathers and all the others that fought and died for your freedom, and you will deservedly reap what you sow.
As long as these people exist in society, and allowed to ply their trade using our "Swinging Door" justice System - "we are all victims" one way or another.
Also you may want to consider any cost savings would go directly to the other criminal element - every level of Government and their wealthy backers that continuously suck us dry.
Compliance is a tool used by dictators, to take your freedom and never give it back.
Enjoy your new "Slave State"!

If money is your greatest concern, then don't even prosecute people. It's the cheapest option. And billing a criminal's family? That might bring you some satisfaction, but how much do you you think they'd pay? How many millions would you pay if it was your black sheep uncle going to jail?
Crime may have dropped in the Philippines but it's still higher than other SE Asian countries. Violence against foreigners is common, organized crime is well-entrenched and the police and government are just as corrupt as they are here, if not moreso. Rub your hands together at the thought of long prison sentences in poor conditions if you want, but they haven't solved anything.
The only difference our Canadian "liberalism" has made is that our bad guys don't chop people's heads off as much.
