Used to live along Benvoulin. Had these people land in the yard once or twice. Always hoped they would offer us a ride. Nope.

pretty sure the same guy crash landed in the lake a couple years ago while ballooning in a wind storm lol sounds pretty professional to me

the guy ran over 100 yards of hay. you put a price on that? who knows. it is common sense that someones farm land is not public property

That's the issue - he's not having problems - at least not anymore than others - yet any landing that's not in an open field is deemed an "emergency" or "close call" or "in distress" by Castanet. Look at the numerous links to previous stories that turned out to mostly be nothing out of the ordinary yet Castanet and bystanders that think they know what they're talking about make it out as one other poster dubbed it fittingly as though they were watching the Hindenburg landing. Pure sensationalism.

First off I have no problems with hot air balloons.
There are large areas within the city of Kelowna boundaries free of hazards to land & away from houses, power lines & trees etc... etc.

Free publicity is just that.... free

Parents just went to their insurance company. Insurance came looked and told them to get it fixed and give them the bill and they were going after the balloon company. So I don't know who they fought to pay the claim but my parents didn't have nothing to do with that. My parents had contacted the airport aviation services right away but then just went to the insurance and they said they will take care of it. This was way before castanet, something like 1980, maybe even around 1978. I still lived at home at the time. I can remember sitting with company from out of town, eating breakfast and we heard this loud bang on the roof.

Back to your hay loss, was it a square or a round bale you lost due to damages? Just curious.
