I honestly hope these dumb kids get a real good punishment. Very deliberate and premeditated and no concern for anyone. Possibly the same dumb people that have been vandalizing Rutland over the past few months?

I doubt there will be much of a penalty for youth. There certainly should be severe consequences, but that's not how the system works.

Word on the street is that this perp was a 14 year old female

I don't care how old these idiots are. Give them a punishment that they will remember and to make them think twice. They new exactly what they were doing. If they were in the young teens, why the heck are they out that late at night. Where are the parents. Give them a harsh lesson.

That would be dangerous for all involved. I suggest that they have to complete the firefighter's basic training with a passable grade as part of their probation. If they don't pass, they will have to repeat the entire course again until they do.
Put a HOLD on their driver's licence until then, as well as complete grade 12 with a 70% average, and maintain a clean criminal record.

Kids do stupid things. All kids do stupid things. I did stupid things when I was a kid. Just never got caught, though.

The reason the system and the courts go easy on them is because they don't want to saddle kids with something they have to carry with them for the rest of their lives that may make it difficult for them to get educations or jobs.

Some people think Canadian courts are stupid. They're actually very smart and pragmatic.

BS.. they did it on purpose, they should be thankful I'm not their parent - they would be spending time in a youth boot camp

Then the parents should be charged for improper teaching of their children, contrary to public safety.
