Apparently Mike Culos has said there's lots of work to do yet so no point in kicking everyone out now. Once the decision has been made as to when to demolish the building (which should be at the end of the month), then some people will be moved to a new location that is supposed to be completed by then. He wants to start construction in March so everyone needs to be out soon to get the demolition under way.

The article stated they have not been able to find a new location.

Despite ongoing searches for a new location, we still have nothing secured,” she says.

Perhaps the new location you mentioned is temporary? But the article said they have found nothing ...

Pardon me, it looked like you were referring to normaM's post right above yours that quoted that article ...

So where is this new location you mentioned going to be (if you know?)...

I believe it's this one:

In Kelowna, the former North Pointe Motel, across Highway 97 from Hearthstone, is being converted into a similar building to be called Heath House. It will have 42 units of supportive housing. It will be managed by the Canadian Mental Health Association and is expected to be ready for residents next month.

For the love of god you guys, the clients of IFTC will not be relocating to the old Northe Point Inn.A few may if they are on the waiting list to get into supportive housing yet as i have stated before the waiting lists to get into these places are extensive and people could be waiting years to get into housing.

I said "some" - you say "few". No one said "all".

Great reporting Fancy. Did you speak to Mr. Culos yourself? I've watched that motel undergo renovations for the past several months. It looks basic but the interior looks nicer than some apartment rentals. Lol. This is great to spread them out a little bit and get them into housing.

It used to be a nice building. Can you imagine what the interior looks like? Now you know just one of the reasons why other property owners aren't jumping at the chance to lease property to this outfit - and their clientele.

I don't believe that it is the fault of the do-gooder organizations, it's about the policing of the clients.
It's more about the lack of control of the clientele.
The clients will do whatever they can get away with.

Only about twelve clients from IFTC will be placed into Heath House and the remaining will come from other shelters and organizations. The waiting list for Heath House has been around for awhile not recently as stated by Castanet.
