Very Poor Snow Removal.

Very Poor Snow Removal.

Postby Bsuds » Dec 30th, 2018, 9:46 am

We have lived in our house at the end of a Cul de Sac for over 25 years and the plow that came through last night did the worst job I have ever seen!

There is a pile of icy snow with large chunks at least 18"/45cm high.

I am going to take pictures and send a complaint to the City it's so bad. They even left a section across the road so there is no way to avoid it to go down the street.

In past years they have always made a pile in the center so you could drive around the circle with no problem. Not so with this idiot.
I know the voices aren't real but they sure do come up with some good ideas!

I just saw one of our neighbors out taking pictures as well. I think the City is going to get a few complaints.

Newbie ! Sounds like a lack of training, Cul-de-sacs require the operator to travel clockwise around
them in order to get the snow to the middle.

He went clockwise but left a trail at the finish blocking the road. Took the dog for a walk and he damages the new sod the lady at the end just put down a couple of months ago. She's gonna be *bleep* when she see it

Supposedly most everyone has either 4x4 or awd in the central Okanagan, so nothing should slow them down. lol

I've lived in many places in several provinces and this happens all the time, I'm not sure how they can prevent this in a city-maybe easier in less populated areas like ruraly
It's brutal shoveling this stuff.

If it weren't for a 65 year old lady in the position to clear that mess there wouldn't be an article. If it were a 30 year old man he'd be some lazy bum.
Maybe some relatives or a neighbor can help her out every once in a while cause yes that snow is heavy.

How the company that clears the lot will either push it back onto street or push on either side on entrance. Which will most likely block off the sidewalk.

There job is to clear the roads.
Maybe whoever this lady hires to clear the driveway , could come later after the city plow.

I’ve cleared municipal roads, it’s pretty hard to prevent this. The work done in the photo looks more like work done by a grader. Their job is to clear the road, the snow they clear has to go somewhere. Welcome to winter. Let the complaining begin.

It happens every time the CoK gets a dump of snow & they get around to the street I live on. One can bit :cuss: and complain, I suspect it goes to deaf ears though at roadworks office.
