I went for a walk down Gordon and then onto Springfield today.
I could not believe all the big chunks of grass and dirt that the little sidewalk plow had dug up!
Who has the city hired to clear sidewalks, some 5 year olds?
It,s not rocket science to clear the sidewalks without digging up 12 inches of grass along the way.
Shame on you City of Kelowna‼️

Yet some of us have yet to see a plow or sanding truck since the snowfall

I was my own plow ( let's take a moment to mourn my poor shovel that is now more a Shov as it broke off plastic parts)
Meanwhile.. I will patiently wait for the people who dismissed the lousy plowing jobs to complain about the Heat, Needles in the Park, smoked filled skies in the Summer, Street people ( it is a long long list)
So I can say " time to move"
I will be 109 years old, and you will complain. And I will be waiting. Patient woman

If the warm wind keeps up there won't be any snow left to complain about. I fear for the snowpeople built in the neighbourhood.

Anyone who can't drive through 6 inches of snow should have their license yanked.

Who said anything about 6 inches of snow? No one is complaining about driving in that. I enjoy driving in snow.

I have a truck and can very easily drive through more than 6 inches of snow. But if I drive on that snow, it turns into an slick, ice covered mess. I live on a very steep hill, so that's not an option. It must be shoveled/cleared before someone drives through. A few of my neighbours have tried to spin their wheels up the hill before shoveling...it turns into a disaster.

all wheel drive and studded tires make those problems go away, chains if its really bad only needed chains once to get home so far

I do have an all wheel drive: Toyota 4-Runner with studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9s.
As I mentioned before, the road is very steep. It's still possible to slide, even with all wheel drive and studded tires. Especially when descending! As well, not all of the neighbours have 4 x 4s. And some people end up driving into the cul de sac by accident. So should it be ok for me to drive my truck up and down the hill, making it icy and not giving a ¢[email protected] about anyone else?

And just like that...the snow is all gone...and the complaints die down...well until the next snowfall that is...
