Too bad these things are out of South Africa. I wonder if such a thing is available in Canada. Probably not huh?

Yea, but it would be worth it just to hear him explain just wt f he was doing in the first place....

Even if you can't get them here, it probably wouldn't be hard to rig something up. The real risk would be having it discharge on a lawful occupant of the home.

Possibly illegal, but you're not likely to get caught. An intruder who got stung is not likely to run to the cops and report you. This is actually a lot more reasonable, realistic, and legal, than some of the death/dismemberment revenge fantasies we get in these forums.

Exactly...

Always wanted to mount these on window frames. Open the window boom.
Great for securing outdoor stuff.

There is a guy in town selling these also.

And there'd be no benefit to the perp to press criminal charges. They'd get nothing out of it.

A lawsuit, maybe. But he/she would be hard-pressed to show monetary losses from getting boonked with pepper spray.

Or zapped with a 1,000,000 volts in the nuts. That would be so much fun.

ETA; maybe there's a secondary benefit of the shock stick in the nuts. What if it caused instant sterilization? Thinnin the herd one doosh bag at a time.

I have 3 of those ecw's.
One is with me everywhere when I leave the property.
What's scary about their use is the close quarters that's involved, but if there's an issue where it needs to be used, it would be close quarters anyway.
I take one on my long walks, both for dogs and people.
Nuke an attacker with 1m volts and they'll leave ya alone.
I'd just as soon jab an attacker in the eye with it and press the red button.
Make em think next time they want to assault someone.

I've read wasp spray could be a good defence tool. Can stream about 35' so you don't have to be up close. Easy to aim and better than bear spray as its directed away from you

Anyone else know more about this?.

Handy thing to have on hand isn't it? Told my son I didn't like walking home after dark - 2 blocks from corner intersection to home with no streetlights - week or so later postperson knocked on the door with a package.

While it definitely does appear that he's casing out the area for a possible break in, I'd be interested in where else on property he either had already examined, or was intending to.

The front door of most properties is generally speaking the most secure entry point to a residence. Besides windows, even other side or rear doors are typically less secure than the front, or primary, door.

I think that's sound. It might not fend off someone who's determined to murder you, but the average purse-snatcher would probably take off. Tho the range is irrelevant...not many people make their intentions known until they're up close and personal.

And I'm not sure if any company makes a "pocket size" version of wasp killer...
